The NIGH****CHMAN - Tuesday 11/17
Eehhh, no worries my friend...we'll git ir'done!!! Either myself or someone else may tag team and get the NW posted. I know people "lurk" so as I've told you before, I think it is good that there is a post that people can take a peek at every night (or whenever they can pop in...)
I tried to figure out how to post a picture of my little pooch IN a post but heck if I could figure out how to do it! Grrrr... I am NOT "techy" by any stretch of the imagination!!!
Had support group tonight. It was SO good! Talked about ways to hopefully keep the pounds off during the holidays. Some of the reasons for WHY we eat stuff was so true...we feel "peer pressure" (i.e. "Sally" brings her usual pecan praline WHATEVER that she ONLY makes during the holidays to work so you constantly are asked "did you try that", making you feel guilty for NOT trying it). I think the best and easiest thing to do would be what we do to telemarketers - just tell them what they want to hear to shoo them away. I would say, "oh yeah, fabulous", and move on. Why cause drama by saying "oh, I can't..." because that will cause even more issues. Unless someone is babysitting the food, no one would know if you tried it or not! If people are fearful that they won't have foods they can/should eat at a family function...COME PREPARED AND BRING YOUR OWN FOOD!!! No sabatage - bring a plate already made up maybe with healthier choices. Another thing they mentioned - what do you do when the plates, like those huge oval Chinet ones, are used. Bigger plates mean we tend to put more on our plates. Ok, great...get a paper napkin and place it on one side of the plate and use the other side for your meal. You certainly wouldn't put food ON the napkin (of course since it would get wet and soggy, then you'd be eating napkin and well, you know, that wouldn't be cool!!!), so occupy half the plate with something and use the rest!
Geez, it's 1 am already. Need to go make sure all the "mommy" stuff is done, signed, and back in backpacks!!! Time to go find my blankie...it's cold for me!!!
