El Paso Tx Area
Our most active El Paso post-op is currently stationed in Georgia, lol, but she answered someone else's question about El Paso support groups a few weeks back..... Hopefully, she'll see your post and reply soon....
in the meantime, I want to welcome you to the Texas msg board and invite you to join us every day on the WLS express... it's a daily post that keeps us all up to date on the ins and outs in everyone's journey....
Hugs!

Hi and welcome to the Texas mesg board - some of the best support peeps you will find anywhere - I say that after they have kept me sane in the frozen winter of Alaska to the humid summer of georgia and still love me :)
Ft Bliss has a decent - for a doc run - support group - call the surg clinic when you get there or befor hand and ask for the wls support group - last I heard it was meeting 3rd Thurs, in the CAR room at WBAMC
Doc Shriver will do follow up for you if you are RNY and he is stateside - Dr Johnson was also there when we left - and last time I talked to anyone from there - he is cool too - younger but defintally a WLS - Johnson accually did my surgery but Shriver did all my preop and post op care - due to their rotations of deployments
shoot me a PM with your email and I will fwd it to a friend that I know is still there - retiered army - that was my angel after surgery - her life is a bit hectic but if she can get with you it will be a HUGE support - she must be close to 7 or 8 yrs out now and still maintianing dispite many chalanges.
find the meetings at the hospital and take your phone number and paper and pen and talk to people - they used to be anywhere from 30-80 peeps
agian welcome to the Tx Board - and like Karen said jump on the wls express you will see posted each morning
Peace
Danni
