I wanted to offer a Praise Report instead of a prayer request tonight! This is in regards to my hubby Bill's hospital trip on Thursday. I sent this in an e-mail to friends, but wanted to share here as well!
Thursday at lunch, Bill suddenly started feeling sweaty, nauseous, and dizzy after he had eaten. He told me he thought it was blood pressure and maybe we needed to walk next door to the Medic Station here at the Fire Field to have it checked! He was very dizzy, so I walked with him. They said his BP was okay, but that his heart rate was way higher than it should be and thought he needed to go to the ER with his past history. He agreed but as he stood up, got very dizzy and fell back to the chair. The Paramedic immediately dispatched an ambulance. Most of these guys are off duty firemen/paramedics, so he was able to bypass the whole 911 thing and get them here in less than 2 minutes. As soon as they arrived, they hooked him up and sent me on ahead to get him checked in. As they unloaded him at the ER, I noticed he looked a lot worse than when I had left and he was very gray in color. He had started having chest pains in the ambulance. Within a few minutes, they had called a "STEMI" Code overhead and there were at least 25 folks in the ER. They were cutting his clothes off, putting in IV's and he was screaming "Please Jesus help me". I later found out that the STEMI code stands for Segment Elevation myocardial infarction. In other words, this was someone in the middle of a heart attack and they were getting him ready for a balloon procedure. I was scared to death! He was screaming I can't see, I can't hear, please help me! His blood pressure had dropped to 50/36. Within 20 minutes, he was headed to the cath lab. I noticed that his color had improved, his BP was 74/58, he was calmer and seemed to be feeling better though. Of course I was swooshed to the waiting room where I broke down. Luckily my kids were there within about 15 minutes or so. Later, after they told us they found no blockage, no collapsed stents or bypasses, they needed to look for the reason this all happened. When the Cardiologist asked him when he felt better, he said as he was headed to the cath lab. I told him he looked better 5 minutes after they gave him the massive dose of blood thinners. The doc said, can't prove it, but I think he had a clot and was in the process of a heart attack when the blood thinner just pushed the clot right on through!! So he got to come home Friday, with a new lease on life and hopefully better regimen of taking his meds! The CT scan they did found that his Aorta was dilated and they said he has to keep his BP in check because it could tear very easily and that is not good!! I am very thankful for the quick actions of the Paramedic that was on duty here Thursday! Thanks to all yall that were thinking, praying and swinging chickens for us!!!! Of course Mr. Stubborn is at work today, but looks and feels great!
Thank you Lord for answere prayers!!!

"Livin' Large, But Not Morbidly Obese!"
Sorry I'm so intermittent lately. The new job and trying to get settled in the house is kicking my butt. I *really* need to find my B12 serum soon!
This week is a crazy week for me. I'm going to San Antonio for a meeting on Wednesday to soft launch our new product. The official launch is 1/4, but there's some opportunities at this meeting because of the content that I want to take advantage of. In the meantime, there's a huge new business pitch going on here. I'm one of a handful of people that aren't working on it (it started before I came on board) but I'm picking up the slack for them in other ways.
My goal is to unpack at least one box every night that I'm home. I didn't get much done over the weekend. Between being so tired and Michael's birthday, I did very little.
Yesterday was also 4 years since my surgery. I can't believe it's been that long, but then again, I also can't remember being that pre-op person, so it also seems like it was forever ago. I really can't believe all the changes the last 13 months have brought in my career. I would have never been considered for jobs like this when I was fat. Sad, but true commentary on discrimination in the workplace.
Sadly, one of my pairs of work trousers didn't fit this morning when I was getting ready for work. So, I really do need to get back to basics and putting more effort in to what goes into my mouth. I still haven't unpacked my scale, so I have no idea what I really weigh at the moment. Oddly enough, I pulled out another pair of trousers by the same manufacturer in the same size and those are the ones I'm wearing right now. Nonetheless, the other pair used to fit, so I know what I need to do and it's best that I start doing it before the holiday feeding frenzy begins.
Have a great evening. I'll check in throughout to see what's going on. Prayers for all who need them.
253 / 140 (below goal)
If I were lying, wouldn't my pants be on fire?!?
One box a night is a good goal. Do I need to bug you to hold you accountable? Probably not, you do so well with that yourself, as your job search showed.
Four years. Wow! I hit two years next month. And you are so right about "looks" discrimination.
I have faith that you will get back on track so those pants fit you again. Just be careful with the holidays. I know I did real bad this weekend. I don't dump on sugar and Dove chocolates came out with their holiday candy. A layer of dark chocolate, a layer of white chocolate and crushed candy cane topping. MMMMM. Heaven. Free samples at Target yesterday. I must have walked around that store 4 times so I could keep passing the tray. Bad boy.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
