Feeling Down.... Pulled Back Muscle

Well, I just needed to whine for a moment and hope you'll all forgive me...  I've had a rough couple of weeks and not sure what I did, but I've been in constant pain going on for 3 weeks now.  Traveling for work last week just made it worse....  To digress...  I had begun to jog on Saturday a.m.'s.  Two weeks ago, I started having low back pain and overnight it progressed to my left leg feeling numb'ish combined with throbbing low back pain.

Hubby has spent quite a bit of time massaging and putting sports cream on my lower back.   Felt better a week ago, so I stretched and went out to jog again.  Okay that day, but by Sunday afternoon was back to barely being able to move.  I had to carry luggage and junk through the airport last Tuesday through Thursday and was in a lot of pain coming home...   This past weekend, we had to spend time on the road for family stuff and it was miserable....

What I've finally figured out is that I pulled a muscle in my upper left hip area and the pain is radiating up and down my back.    Alternating now between hot/cold packs and living on Tylenol - BTW, this sucks!!!!

Kept telling hubby that I only want to run if something was chasing me; maybe he will listen now???

Anyhoo - no workouts last week and I can't see me being able to do anything until Wed or Thurs of this week.... Feel like a slug!!!

Thank you for letting me whine as I sit here typing, which, by the way, also hurts....

Oh, and everything I've been trying to eat the past few days is causing me to either dump, get stuck or just not go down well.... Basically, I'm just hoping this week improves!

Lisa,

I can empathize with you completely.  I pulled something in my back this weekend and have been racking my brain trying to remember doing anything out of the ordinary that would've caused it.  One minute it's fine, the next I'm just about knocked to my knees, especially if I move just right (or really just wrong)!

Hope you feel better soon!

Oh...that sounds so familiar. Get yourself to a Chiropractor! That's all that fixes mine.

Sounds like a pulled muscle or herniated disc to me.  The tingling in the leg is pressure on the sciatic nerve.  My chiropractor recommends alternating heat and cold as well so you're doing the right thing.  "Been there, done that" too many times in my life to care to discuss.  Time will help, be patient and jeesh...NO RUNNING!!  Exercise is evil!!

Thanks Steph - I just feel like a slug sitting on my laurels....    Never thought I'd say that, but I do!!!

:)   Feeling better today, less pain, but I'm forcing myself to sit and rest at home; no workouts until Wednesday.
