Hi!

I am researching surgeons both stateside and in Mexico. I need a band to sleeve revision surgery and a couple of people on the VSG board have used him so I looked him up was impressed. I sent and email to them but I wanted to know if any of you all had any comments about Dr. Nicholson.

Did you have a sleeve? A revision? How was your experience.

Thanks so much!

I went from a vertical banded gasgtropalsty to an RNY.
Dr. Castro at Dallas Methodist performed my surgery.
He is so wonderful(if you are still shopping),
There are several at his WLS group that have had a sleeve.
They are doing very well. We have group this Tuesday if
you are interested.

"Dr. Nick" has a pretty good rep locally ..   Dr. Alexander also does a lot of revisions here in the DFW area, including sleeves ..

As to Mexican sleeve surgeons, have you checked out Dr. Alvarez?   He's very popular, reasonable in price, and just over the border in Piedras Negras  ..

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "

HW/461 LW/251 GW/189 CW/274 (yep, a DS semi-failure - it happens :-( )

Dr. Wade Barker also does revisions.  He's a great surgeon.

If I go to Mexico, I will use Dr. Aceves or Dr. Rumbaut, and there is a good possibility that I will go to mexico. I had my band placed in mexico but the band is all that doctor does.

Dr. Alvarez told me that he would have to take the band out, I would have to wait 5 months, then return for the sleeve. So, that was not appealing to me since no once else does that.

Thanks for your responses. I am just looking for peace in this decision and want to make the right choice since I am a revision.

Thanks!

RNY on 12/15/06 with

I love Dr. Nick.

He's changed offices and staff since I had surgery, but he not only did my RNY in 06, but did my gall bladder in 07.

So, needless to say, I've trusted him with my life twice.  Surgery both times at Baylor Plano.

Hope that helps,

Rachel
