GOOD MORNING! Thanks for getting us started from the north! Glad you are getting settled in Michelle. Its hard to walk in anywhere new for me but I'm sure if you do, you'll meet some nice folks and start to fit right in.
We are off to Maya's soccer game this morning. Then car shopping for Bryan. Just looking for now. His truck is getting old and has lots of miles on it.
Bryan came home from work and got Chris's new bedroom stuff all set up. I was very impressed. Hopefully now he can have more floor space and enjoy his bedroom more-have friends over and have room to play, etc.
Hope everyone has a great day today. Saying prayers of healing for Eric and Gaye. Saying prayers for Dana's surgery that it goes well.

Take care!

Good morning everyone.

Clint went and picked up the kids last night.  We hadn't seen them in a month.  2 weekends ago when we were supposed to have them their mom arranged to have some out of town friends come in for Halloween.  As much as we wanted to see them, we didn't want to be jerks and insist they come over and miss partys with their friends so we gave the weekend up (Don't get me started on his ex).  We went out for dinner and ran to Hobby Lobby for some picture frames and got sucked into the Christmas ornament section.  Managed to escape with only purchasing 2.

Today I'm headed back into Dallas to go to the fabric distric (not the design district).  I am in need of large amounts of black linen to make some more pants for Clint for our medieval recreation group.  We have events on the weekend (the average is about 2 per month-not the insanity we just did of almost 10 months of every weekend) but in March we have a full week event in Mississippi.  I'd like to get a jump start on sewing new clothes....no matter how much I make thru the year, by the time the event (its actually called a War as 2 different Kingdoms go to war with each other every year) comes around, more is always needed.

The kids want to go to the mall to hang out.  We'll probably go and let them run amok while we window shop for Christmas.  This year we'll have 2 Christmases spread a ways out.  The first will be over the actual holiday in Arizona with Clint's parents, siblings and affiliated family.  Then we come back home and will have Chirstmas in February with my family when my youngest brother is in town for the Professional Bull Riders show (he works for the PBR) and my mom is flying in too.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday filled with whatever brings joy in your life.

I focus on 2 specific time periods.  The first is 14th century Western European...so very fitted "cotehardies" with lots of buttons.  One of my dresses takes almost 10 yards of fabric (with no pleats and very fitted sleeves) and over 40 buttons.  The other time period I have started to love is 10th century viking.  Most of the pictures in my profile are of me in various vikings right now.  Very simple but lots of fun.  My first love is the 14th century, but the dresses are very fitted and only good for about 30 to 40 pounds after weightloss (of being altered) after that, you have to take the dress completely apart and restructure.  Considering there are over 40 buttons per dress, its not worth my time to do that so for right now I'm enjoying the viking and when I get closer to goal weight I'll make myself some new cotehardies.  Plus...I have some older cotes I grew out of that as I lose I'll be able to wear again for a bit.

I've done corsets before but I don't use grommets (they aren't technically proper to period) so I just handsew eylets which is annoyingly MORE tedious than the grommets would be.   I've made 2 victorian corsets (not period but lots of fun to wear at the Goth clubs) and I've done 2 or 3 Elizabethan corsets...they are a very different profile.  Victorian is very hourglass and Elizabethan wants a very flat bust with a predominat "v" shape.  Pretty, but when you are an F cup and naturally hourglass, not that comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

I COMPLETELY didn't mean to run off that long.  Haha...yeah...I kinda love my hobby if you can't tell.

Loralea, are you bringing Kaityn to our house today?  I never heard back from you so I wasn't sure if it was gonna be today or tomorrow.  Let me know approx. what time so we'll be here.

I text Karen her potassium was low she said and the doctor is making his rounds, she is hoping to go home.  I am sure she is getting some much needed rest too!

Morning all - don't usually post on the Train too much these days, but thought I would swing by and drop in my 2 cents.  Had a terrible dumping episode last night in the middle of a restaurant, scared my friends and the waitress half to death, as I turned as white as a ghost (their words) and thought I was going to hit the floor.  I haven't done that since I was about 3 months out and it was VERY scary! I still feel like a wrung out wet noodle this morning, but am not going to let it get me down!

Going to clean house today--looks like a cyclone hit in here and I just can't stand it, so there's my day all laid out for me.  Then I am planning on working on a new quilt I bought fabric for while we were over in Atlanta last weekend.  Found some gorgeous Asian fabrics (which I am particularly fond of) so I decided it was time for a new quilt project. Worst part about it is that it's supposed to be a beautiful day, so I'll be torn between working inside and the beautiful day calling to me.

Well, we'll see what the day brings.......

Hope everyone has a great day!
Hugs, Mari

Oh, no, Mari!!  That is my worst fear and why I am not very adventurous in restaurants (grilled chicken or hamburger are my safest choices).  I hope you're getting back up to par today.

Hugs!!

I was even feeling the effects of it this morning, terribly shaky and weak feeling, ya know that feeling?  I haven't had one of those since early in my journey, so really was surprised when it hit.  My poor friends didn't really know what to do.  It's flat out embarrassing!  TG, I was with good friends!!!

Feel a little bit more normal this evening, but am putting nothing but protein in the tummy!! Thanks for the concern!

Hugs M
