It's been a year since my surgery and I've lost 145lbs from my top weight.  I am hoping to lose another 25-30 lbs, but it's very obvious that I'm going to need to have my tummy done at the bare minimum, and would also love to have my breasts re-inflated lol.  So I'd like to start researching and perhaps consult with a few plastic surgeons.  Anyone have any recommendations?  I live in the North suburbs of Dallas.

Also, I had heard that you should wait a year after reaching goal but I have also seen stories where people had their tummies done before they even made goal, so any input on that topic would be appreciated too :)

Barbara-

I had my surgery Lap RNY with Dr. Barker in August of 2008  I have lost 115 lbs.  Went from a size 20 to a size 4 then had plastic surgery (inner thight lift, skin removal, lip and breast augmentation) in Sept 2009, now I am a size 0-2.  It was a great experience.  I highly recommend Dr. Kasden in Southlake.  He is very carring and gives you lots of time and answers and ask alot of questions.  He is very familiar and aware of the special needs of weight loss patients..  He is also very attentive.  I have allergies to latex, adhesive, sulfa drugs and lortab he worked with me and i have had great success!  You can private message me if you want to know all the ins and outs!

My personal advice is to wait until you reach goal but I don't think you have to wait a year.  I think somewhere in the middle might be better.  I waited about 3 months.  My plastic surgeon was Natan Yaker and he's not mentioned here often but he is very good.  He does not accept insurance but getting it covered by insurance is tricky business.  Some do, some don't. If there's anything I can do to help, let me know.
hugs, Y
