Need Help FAT FREE & LOW CARB ???????
don't know how well it would work for VSG but I would aim for either the 5 day pouch test or the old OA grey sheet diet - low fat protien 3x day plus one fruit for breakfast, one raw and one cooked veggie with lunch and dinner - ok ok so it's not REALLY techonogly using your wls tool but it will knock off the last few pounds and it is low fat and low carb - if you want the detials let me know, I am pretty sure I have it saved in an email I can find (I am horrible about losing stuff on the computer)

Roy....where is your Protein??? You should try apple with a little peanut butter spread on it. YUM Try turkey bacon instead of regular bacon or turkey link sausages. I use Jimmy Dean it is ever bit as good as regular bacon and sausage. Oh the sausage is Jimmy Dean turkey links and the bacon is Oscar Mayer Turkey bacon. Sometimes I just do bacon or sausage for breakfast with fruit.
Watch your calories with foods and limit your diet to so many calories such as 1200 a day. I usually have to get below 900 calories a day to loose. I need to start back to exercising though....when I do that I can up my calories and still loose. Good luck to you Roy. Keep us posted on how things are going.

Hey Roylynn!
I'm a RNYer but have some recommendations for ya if you're interested. Low fat is great, but high fiber is even more great. Losing saturated fat in your diet is a good idea for anyone so having bacon occassionally isn't bad. But there are other things you can replace it with that are pretty tasty! Morningstar Farms has a soy based sausage patty that is out of this world. I'm a meat eater - so please don't confuse me with a trail mix choking soybean pusher - but these things are GOOD. Besides a handful of other soy based products they have on the market - they're naturally good for you and lower in fat so you get an opportunity to save calories there.
FIBER! Gotta love some fiber. High fiber fruits, veggies, cereals, wraps, and bars - although not traditionally "low carb", they're naturally low carb because it's simply impossible to absorb fiber calories (ahem.... lets just say leaves evidence behind of it's existence) so you get more for your caloric buck. Making a goal to get between 80 - 100 of the best carbs out there for you in (fruits, veggies, legumes, whole grains, dairy) will make you lose weight AND feel satisfied without sugar spikes from processed carbs. PLUS because fiber bulks up in your colon, it takes some of the calories you eat everyday with it. Not all, but some. And when it all comes down to it, it's calories in versus calories out. I'd love to be able to eat a little bit more because I know fiber is doing it's job versus not eat fiber and have to cut back a little more calorically.
FIBER and PROTEIN! These suckers are super foods in my book. Anything that has protein AND fiber is going to be good for you - no matter what the fat content is (almonds and sunflower seeds for example). The awesome thing about nuts and seeds is that they're flavorful because they're so fat rich. But it's mono and poly UNsaturated fats that actually work FOR your body, not against it. Don't be afraid to throw a serving into the mix to keep your tummy full, your mouth happy, and your waist slim.
Sounds like you're doing great! Congrats on all of your success. It's definitely a dance isn't it? Experiment to see what works for you and stay positive! You'll get where you want to be!
