Way way OT: Teenager looking for odd jobs
We're in the same boat here. In past years I just let her do extra work for me, but with me being out of a job right now, I told her she'd have to find work somewhere else. I'm doing my own extra work...LOL.

Hmm, how can we get her to Rowlett? I would gladly pay her to do deep cleaning around my house. If anyone is coming anywhere close to here we could meet on a Saturday or Sunday and I'd hire her for 5-6 hours of work. Maybe we should have a "peep time/pedi day/luncheon" near here and while we're enjoying each other, she could be making my house look better. With this knee thing, I just can't do it. Let me know if you think we can work something out.

That sounds great...I don't mind bringing her out there. I wouldn't be able to stay for peep time this weekend...got kids soccer, dance, etc, etc. But could probably do dinner after I pick her up if she worked Saturday. Sunday morning is our princess crew walk/run, and I could drop her off after that also....same story about peep time though, and no dinner that night...school night. I'm sure we can work something out.

OK, just talked to Clay. We have a dinner to go to Saturday night at 6:00 but other than that no plans. So let me know what works best for the both of you. We can do either Sat or Sunday. Don't worry about the "peep thing", I was just trying to make it worth your while to drive her over here. We could also meet you somewhere if you want to make the drive shorter for you. I've got $50 with her name on it, hope that helps.

I wish I'd had seen this before last weekend. I'd have put her to work helping me unpack boxes. I'm not totally unpacked, but I'm close enough it wouldn't be worth the time to get her all the way up to our new place.

A few months ago my son wanted to earn some money for some custom-made sneakers that I wasn't going to pay $189 for. He put an ad on our local free website offering to wash cars. He got paid $25-30 a car and had those shoes paid for in no time. She might want to consider putting an ad for gift wrapping. I would pay someone to wrap gifts. I HATE doing that.
