Ellis County - Waxahachie
There is a track in Getzandaner Park behind Baylor Hospital. Tomorrow we will be walking the track about 1:00. If you want to join us, the bridge might be the best place to plan on meeting up at 1. The track goes over a wooden bridge so we can be there at 1 pm.... See ya...
If you haven't been there, the track also has exercise stations you can stop at spaced all along the track.

Wow! Has the Getzandaner Park Trail ever changed since the last time I went. The last time I was there, it was just a trail made with mulch and signs along the trail for exercise stations. I was pretty sure it only went around the park. Now it is a 4 foot wide concrete trail with official exercise stations spread throughout. It has the mileage marked and if you follow it from one end to the other, it looks to be 8 miles according to the mileage signs.
No, not many of us were ready for 8 miles, but we did start at the beginning and walked the mile to the cemetery (official end) and then the mile back. It was a very scenic trail with people, dogs and bicycles sharing the trail. There were a lot of people on the trail which made it really nice because much of it is wooded.
To find the trail, go in the park on beside Baylor hospital and follow the road to the right (one way anyways). Go past the Chataqua Auditorium and the first set of restrooms. Park at either the trail entrance or even across from it. There is plenty of parking. Start at the sign near the small bridge and the trail begins there. Oh, if you get tired of walking, about 3/4 mile down the train there is a swing to relax in or assorted benches along the way.
Hopefully this will be a weekly walk and the MHS track wil be Monday's walk....
Keep moving!
