Severe constipation
I get like that when I eat way too much whole red meat and/or neglect my water/liquid intake. With the weather cooling down & me job hunting I've found it to be a challenge to get all my water in for the day. A few days ago I had the worst chapped lips and constipation (2 tell-tale signs for me) and I know it was because I was not drinking all my water for the day. I try to do hot herbal tea but I can't always get that while out.
edit: Forgot to mention...If things get to tuff with constipation I use milk of magnesia. Miralax just doesn't work for me as well as MOM. Sometimes yogurt & nuts will get thngs moving but it takes time to work.

Like many I have battled it for years and taking calcium only makes it worse. MOM has been my stand by if I hit the 3 day mark without any action. I am better IF I drink all the fluid, take calcium with magnesium (but they are twice the size of the regular petites) take fish oil at night-I discovered fish oil a few years ago trying to increase omega 3's-it works better than colace and has added benefits.
If I'm being really good I eat HI-LO cereal for breakfast -it has lots of fiber and high protein-tastes great too-but I struggle with not wanting to eat breakfast at all so the battle continues-Good Luck finding the right combo for your system.

Thank you. I do take fish oils too, but didn't know they could help this situation. My grandmother use to swear by prune juice. I'm wondering if it could be that simple...more water, more fiber, stool softeners, etc. I'm thinking I need to take all these suggestions and work on a plan that stops this discomfort. By the third day, I'm achy, don't feel like eating, nausea, and dizzy. I'm glad I brought this out for help instead of suffering in silence.
