Severe constipation
I can't seem to move my bowels on my own. Every 3 or 4 days, I have to use a combination of Fleet liquid glyercin or Fleet enemas to get any action. It's uncomfortable and sometimes painful. I don't know what's going on, but I suspect something has changed in my parastalsis. It's been going on like this for a couple months. Before that, I had horrible diarhhea that lead to dehydration and heart problems.
Can anyone relate to this or can advise me?

my surgeon advised us lots and lots of water of course and
2 colace every evening
Since it appears you are in dire straits, he would then advise 2 colace in am and 2 in pm.
You can get the 'store' brand of colace at both sams and costco for a VERY cheap price should you chose to go that route. Hope you get things moving quickly!!!

When I was born, I cried and the world rejoiced. Now i wanna live my life so that when I die, the world cries and I rejoice
I've battled this since way before surgery, but after wards my surgeon told me to do Miralax in my shake every day and then when it's really bad to do a "healthy" dose of Milk of Magnesium. Are you on any iron supplements, those can cause constipation and if you are you may need to try some different types. Lots of fluids and depending on what you are able to eat perhaps adding some fiber rich veggies in too.

I have that same problem. Nothing seems to work for me. When it gets bad my surgeon (and my gyn) have prescribed me some medicine that helps so much. It's called Amitiza. YOu might ask your doctor if that would work for you. OR maybe you could go by and get some samples if they have them. I went nearly 10 days last year without any relief from anything and that was the only thing I could get that helped.
