OT: Fort Hood Shooting Rampage that started at 1:30 PM CST in Killeen, TX

Let's all say a prayer for the victims who were murdered and wounded today at Fort Hood in Killeen, TX.

This is a sad day and a shame that the alleged people who did this were soldiers.

I am patiently waiting for identifications to be made to the families first and then the media as I have several friends who live and work on post that I can't reach via phone or text right now.

My only question is WHY???????

Special News Update

Scott & White Memorial Hospital is receiving several gunshot victims from Fort Hood. No specifics are known regarding the incident resulting in the shootings. At this time the victims coming to Scott and White are suffering from wounds. We have nothing else at this time. All patients are adults.

All Scott & White facilities remain open and Scott & White hospital operations are continuing. The Emergency Department however, is NOT accessible to the public at this time.

and donate blood as soon as possible, we are located in Room 115 next the McLane Dining Room in the main hospital. We are open today until at least 7 p.m. and you can contact us at 254-724-4376 if you need any assistance on determining your eligibility to donate.
 

Thanks for the update Teena.  My heart and prayers go to the victims and their families.  To think that those who served our great country with such valor and survived brutal wars only to be gunned down by their own is horrific indeed. 

And Teena, I do use the term "their own" in the loosest meaning possible.  The FBI is already investigating the suspects motives for becoming soldiers.  Our service men and women deserve our Country's best.  We failed them.  When the results of the investigation into the motive is complete, it should cause pause for ALL Americans.  More to follow...

My prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones and the ones who are critically wounded as result of this tragic event.  My BF sat in disbelief yesterday as we watched the news coverage.  Thank God I was able to make contact with my family members who are there and they are all okay.

I am still trying to get in touch with some of my friends there.

I may be driving out there this weekend if I cannot reach them by later on today.

Are your friends okay?  I know there was a lot of chaos, and I didn't hear from my friends on post until later in the day.
