Good evening all.  Another beautiful day.

Mary and I have been doing our Christmas shopping on-line and on TV (HSN and QVC).  We are just about done.

The boss at my part time job and I spoke yesterday and depending on what happened last night, he wanted to cut hours.  Well, last night's results justified cutting  hours.  I come in today and he has changed his mind.  Again.  But now he say probably next week.  We have enough people taking off this week to stay the way we are.

Not much else going on in my world.  Ready for vacation.

Just so you know, you need to TAKE YOUR VITAMINS  SUPPLEMENTS and make sure you get your daily allotment of PROTEIN.

If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested).  Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Hey George...
A "quiet" house tonight as Paul watches his Phillies losing.  Just HATE it when we have sports "situations" like this because he is such a cranky butt to the rest of us!!!

The two older girls had tennis this afternoon, as usual, but today both had to play girls who asked them for challenge matches.  Both of the girls who asked them are one step under them.  One of them who wanted to challenge V was a real snot.  She had beat one other girl so got a bit full of herself and came out and actually SAID to V, "I'm going to beat you, too, then take my rightful place in the top four".  Thankfully V kept her mouth shut and just said to her, "fine, bring it on".  So, today, they played.  The score got to 5-2 and the girl decided she just had to leave to go home.  Hmm, in my book, that would be called a FORFEIT!  The coach is going to let her finish tomorrow which I don't think is right.  V had the momentum so why should the girl get the advantage of resting up?!?  I know I will be addressing this problem next fall during the parent meeting because by then, we should have a new head coach and hopefully he'll think the same way.  Coach Kaiser had that as a rule - if you asked for a challenge match, you stay until it is done or you forfeit.  Heather had to play a girl that I swear, doesn't even WANT to be on the team.  She always has excuses for why she cannot stay for practice or even participate in matches!  When she is at a match, she's more interested in flipping her hair and walking around with her boyfriend.  It's just frustrating because there are a couple girls on JV who actually CARE about that team and deserve the right to be on varsity as they actually TRY!  At any rate, Heather was beating the girl 4-0 when the girl said to her, "that's it, just go tell coach you beat me 8-0, I am done playing and want to go home"!  See, NO incentive to be there.  UGH.  Good for Heather, but she's definitely not productive for the team!!!
Guess I'd better go get Sarah off to bed!

That coach better be happy he is dealing with you.  I would be no where near as nice.  And it would be going above him too.

Good luck to V, congrats to Heather.

And tell Paul I am really sorry about the Phils.  I turned the radio off because I do not want to hear the Yankee fans celebrating.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Yeah, I turned the channel with two outs to go as I didn't want to see it/hear it either!  Blech on the Yankees!

The only good part with the girls' situation...the girl who is basically between V and Heather has a hot-headed dad who has NO problem letting coach know he doesn't like something.  When I went to get the girls at 4:30, his daughter was holding Schnitzel (they are Mini Schnauzer fans too as they have one) and wanted to show her dad when he pulled up.  We were all talking between the cars and I mentioned to him how I just hate the fact the kids have to go through challenge matches yet again to "earn" a varsity spot...if you ask me, whoever gets on varsity at the beginning of the year should be there all school year.  That's the way it has been for years so why this year he has changed things up I will never know.  I just don't think that is healthy for the kids to constantly be competing against one another as that builds a "me, me, me" mentality instead of a TEAM mentality.  The girl's dad has a problem with the fact that our #1 player has been injured since before school started and hasn't played but like ONE match back in August so she is useless.  The #2 and #3 girls have both been beat by my girls and the other gal so her dad doesn't understand why those two are head of our kids.  Personally I don't care that those two are ahead of both my girls as the higher up you play, the better chances you are gonna get your bootie kicked!  V is slotted in the #4 slot and Heather at #7.  Heather SHOULD be at #6 but coach did what he did and put her there.  Now the other big monkey wrench is a girl who plays on the volleyball team is about ready to finish up the season in volleyball and thinks she deserves to be on Varsity because she is good.  Uhm, geez, tennis is your SECOND choice so those who have been here the duration should get that spot before her.  All so frustrating!!!

Coach Kaiser seemed like a decent coach from what you have said.  Sure hope they find someone in the same mold to replace him.  This guy does not seem to have a clue when it comes to TEAM.

Well, he knows what one is, but, I think the guy is so burned out he is just tired of it but knows right now he wouldn't dare leave them hanging with no team at all!

Well, the unfortunate part is the coach who we HAD just a few months ago had set that as one of his rules...if you started a challenge match, you were expected to stay for the duration of the Varsity practice time to fini**** or it would be considered a forfeit.  Now that Coach Kaiser is no longer here, no longer are his rules.  The sad part is MOST of the kids follow those "no brainer" type situations but others walk all over the coach we do have and he is just too nice and doesn't want to cause issues.  I just hope when they find a replacement, they find one that has a set of "jewels" who will lay down the law to some of these primadonnas.  If my kiddo ends up losing the match, I will go have a chitty-chat with the coach and tell him "uh, nope, they can just start over because she was on a role and CLEARLY was on a road to beating her."  This girl she is having to play pulls this BS about having to go home ALLLL the time.  Varsity practices from 1:45 until 3:30 most of the time.  It's always the last class period of the day (1:45-2:35) and then about an hour after that so that way they get in two full hours of practice.  The JV team then practices from 3:45 until 5:00 as they had their athletic period from 7:30-8:20 so they basically split their practice times each day.  Now that it is "off season", coach holds "open practice" from 2:45 until 4:30 every day which my girls go to.  Heather doesn't have a time slot for tennis as an actual class period (as is the case with a few others) so she joins up with the team after 7th period is over so she gets out there by 2:45 anyway.  During that time some kids are doing challenge matches while he pools some of the others and does group drills.  Just hard for one coach to do it all.

Hi George;

Another exhausting day for me. I'm already in bed with my pups and a movie. I met up with Sara on my way home from the office for a couple drinks and some food. It was good to catch up with her as I hadn't seen her since I hadn't seen her since her birthday.

I had another very good day at my new job. Not as many meetings today, but I'm getting into a groove and feeling like my input is really valued.

Michael's back in SAT tonight finishing packing up the house. Not everything fit in the truck we rented last week. He doesn't know if he'll be back tomorrow night or Friday. I'm hoping for tomorrow. I'm nervous spending my first night alone in the new house. I'd rather it only be one night than two.

Have a good evening. Prayers for all who need them.
Blessings, Jennifer
