 Greetings Dallas!!!

I just moved here from Michigan last week. Do you have any Bariatric stores or bariatric friendly stores that sell our products lines? Click? Kay's? Bariatric Advantage? Celebrate? Bars? PB2??  I was use to shopping at a Bariatric store where I could find it all!!

I also was wondering if anyone out there has already had surgery and fought the regain with a group?  I have about 10-15 lbs that I really want to get back off, I had a gastric bypass 4 1/2 years ago and I know my personality...I like to be held accountable....are there any good programs in Dallas? Just was curious if something existed in a Bariatric way instead of just heading out to the local weigh****chers for that weekly weight in!!

Would appreciate any info you can share with the NEW TEXAS GIRL :)

Help!!!

Hey welcome to town and the best message board on OH!

Jump on the Nuthin' But Nutrition thread - it's a daily thread for accountability.  I think we've done it since February?  Karla usually starts it every morning.

Can't answer your bariatric store question, but jump right in here and get to know everyone!

Welcome to Texas!  I don't know about Dallas but I haven't found any Bariatric specific stores in or around Houston. A lot of us order stuff from Netrition. Click ---> www26.netrition.com/  They carry most everything plus the shipping is only $4.95 for everything.

Welcome! We have a few support groups. There is one this Sat at IKEA at 9:30am. There is another in Southwest Fort Worth this Sat-that one meets every other Sat and Jack young just posted about the FW Group meeting earlier on the texas board. There is one that meets in the mid-cities as well. What part of Dallas/FW are you in?
I buy stuff either online OR at The Vitamin Shoppe-they're great. You might check them or GNC out-google them and see their locations nearest you.

Alissa;

I'm so glad you posted about IKEA. I was wondering when the next meet-up was there when I was driving by on my way to work this morning.

 Thanks Alissa. I may try to catch the IKEA one....need to find that anyways :)
I am living in Garland and working in the High 5. I am in a temporary living situation and searching for an apartment/house to rent---once I figure out what area I want to live in....I can tell you geographics will play a big role with work...you have some serious traffic. 75 has not been my friend yet :)

Thanks for the info. I hope to meet you in person soon!

Hope you come Saturday. We don't normally make it there but are making a special trip there this time. I lived in Ann Arbor from 1975-1977 but I was only ages 3-5 so I don't remember much- just the snow!

75, 35, 820, 114 will never be your friend. I drive daily between Texas motorspeedway to the Dallas hospitol district. 35 miles of driving heck all due to grapvine international airport

Hey Laura!  Welcome to Texas!!  Depending on what part of Dallas you are in there are several active support groups that would be happy to open their doors for you.  I lead one in the north Texas (Collin County) are, there is one in Terrell, Mid-cities (Bedford, Hurst area) and some in Ft Worth as well.

Let us know which part of town you're in and we can provide the meeting times/places.  As for a bariatric store I usually go to Vitamin Shop or GNC, or order things online.  Some of the signature Kroger stores have a really good selection of "diabetic" foods also and I've found some good low or no sugar things there.  I don't know of any stores that cater specifically to bariatric needs, but a lot of the sports nutrition places do have a good selection of powders, bars and vitamins.
