Before and After

I have been wondering something!!!!!

I have looked at alot of before and after pics, here and other places.....

I notice a repeating theme......the people in the pics pretty much dress the same way they did when they were heavier....

My mind is asking, will I dress in the same ol' stretchy pull on elastic waisted capri's?

I looked back at my clothes from years ago, yes i still have them, the same jeans from 1994....sad isnt it....indigo blue is still in? ....right....lol

I know that WLS doesnt change our minds, only our tummies....

I dont want to be the same person I am now.....I hope to be able to do more....breath easier, bend, stretch and do more stuff....I basically stay home all day, only going out for Dr. appointments.....im becoming a hermit.........im so embarrassed by my size.....im so uncomfortable in my clothes....

At halloween I couldnt wait to get home and strip down to my night clothes, I was constantly tugging at my bra, readjusting it and cursing Eve.....lol

I see ladies fashion today and i think all the stuff i kept over the years have come back into style...leggins anyone.....skinny jeans....someday....

"Someday" is just around the corner! Save a pair of those capris- you'll appreciate them later on. I have an old pair of Lee's that serve as a reminder for me from where I've been.

Most -wls'ers tend to get cooler clothes the smaller they get. I think that along with having to buy new clothes allows us to try new things as well. I also think that clothes get more fun the smaller the sizes they are. Think about the selections too....  there are floors designated for misses/jr size clothes but only an area for plus size. Yes, I still own basic black capris- but they are from Anne Taylor Loft and instead of pairing them with a black t-shirt to minimize my old size I now have an assortment of colors, materials and cuts to try depending on my mood and where I'm going.

You will know you've arrived when you start buying undergarments for particular outfits. I have different bras and panties to wear with different outfits depending on the cut of the garment. At a two day conference last year a fellow wls-er was in awe over how many bras each of us had with us. "but I might decide to wear this shirt instead and then I'd NEED that bra....." lol

I, too, have been in your shoes. I remember walking on the treadmill for exercise and thinking that it's a viscious circle- I'm exercising to feel better and lose weight but it hurts to exercise therefor I hate to do it and without exercise I just keep gaining......  wls literally saved my life.

PLEASE don't hide! If nothing else please become part of a support group here at OH. If anyone can understand what you are going through I guarantee it's one of us!
Good luck!!!

Your right "someday" is just a month away.....

I will save one pair of fat pants, but i cannot wait to get rid of this disgusting wardrobe....I truly don't think I could give my clothes away....

Me in something designer.....im putting that in the bucket.....I already love bras, just dont wanna wear one for long, durn underwires....

My hubby and my boys rode bikes the other day, I made it around all four sides of one block then I came home and thought I was gonna have a heart attack.....no lie....

Im looking into that support group thingy

Perhaps I'm a strange one - but I really hate stretchy stuff, before and after.  To this day, I try to find things that fit.  The big difference now is that it's easier to find things and I find a much bigger selection to pick from...  With that being said, I still like to be comfortable, so tend to hunt for things along that style.   I'm very conscious of my size to this day and will share that the mind is the last thing to change....

Hubby keeps reminding me to stop looking in the plus side as I'm so firmly in a small/med top now and getting into 10 bottoms.... But, my head keeps browsing even when I can't wear 'that' anymore :)  You'll get there and it's such a plesant surprise when you do!!!

I refuse to wear stretch waist once I didn't have to anymore.  But I will admit I have no style.

I wish that was me. LOL  I have been looking for over a year for a nice pair of boots.  My problem is now that I have lost this weight I now have a narrow foot and everything flips and flops on my heels.  My daughter is always telling me she is going to sign me up for What Not To Wear.LOL
