Monday Monday WLS EXPRESS
Monday is upon us - AGAIN!
We had a good weekend at the deer lease. Went down just to check on everything and found out that one of the feeder pens had been destroyed. To me it looks like someone cut some of the wires or some hellacious winds blew through there. Of course the cows took full advantage of "free corn" and had the feeder tilted so corn freely fell to the ground any time they nudged the posts! And people say cows are dumb! Got that all repaired. We had lots of good pictures on our game camera, so King is really excited about opening day on Saturday.
King started with the sniffles last night, so he proceeded to get the vaporizer out and I have that rather wonderful Vick's menthol smell in the house. I think it's allergies, but he swears he's getting a cold. Let's hope I'm right!!
I'm working with some of our guys on a project that is going on in Costa Rica. I'm sure hoping that by working with them state side, that when they get ready for more onsite resources they will remember my name! I'll still be working on internal compliance reviews as well. Burning both ends of the candle, but it's good to be busy.
In 26 days we'll be headed to Galveston to get ready for our Cruise. It seems so close, yet so far away. I'll refrain from the daily countdown until maybe the week before! LOL
9:30 and I haven't had tea or started working yet. Gotta get busy.
Here's to a great week ahead!

Crappy weekend moving into a crappy week. We were allowed to visit my brother-in-law yesterday afternoon. He looks much better than I expected, but he is also very clearly faking his mental status. He was agitated and distracted. He says he doesn't remember anything, but we caught him in 2 lies in the short 30 minute conversation so I'm not sure that's true. I feel like he's saying that so that he doesn't have to try and explain himself.. We do know that he goes through several sessions of therapy every day while he is there. We understand that today or tomorrow they may take him in front of a judge to discuss release, but not until the medical staff is sure that he's no longer a danger to himself. Personally, I don't thihk he's ready but we'll have to wait and see. It is completely out of our hands. Thanks for your continued prayers.

Good morning everyone! Could it drag anymore? I love daylight savings time but hate how the daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaays seeeeeeeeem toooooooooooo draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag until you get used to it. I'm jumping on today to celebrate Eric eating TWO waffles with syrup, FIVE slices of bacon, and TWO cups of whole milk. WAHOO! It's weird to celebrate me still eating healthy (which I am amazingly - I so rock!) and him eating anything (bring on the fat!) that I'm flying sky high this morning. YAY! I won't lie - I envy some of the food I'm making him. You know you're a foodie at heart when you envy a cancer patient diet fit for a king. LMAO. Ooey gooey cheesy lasagna, smoothies with ice cream hidden inside, sweets, croissants, etc. I will eventually need to stop licking the spoon. Cough. Soon, I will.... soon.
Hope everyone has a great day today! We're off to sign a release for medical records so we can get a pre-determination for treatment from the insurance company to change oncologists. There's a pre-existing clause on the policy and they need to prove he wasn't treated for cancer before the effective date of 10-15. Yeah, he wasn't. So there. You want to fight it, prove me wrong. Dude hasn't been to the doctor in 9 years. You prove to me he has anything pre-existing. I'd like to see you try. You think you can squash me like a bug - better watch my stinger.
But I know this week is going to be good. Eating is a great sign. Plus he's hopefully going to work at least a couple hours this week. It will help definitely his head to get away from cancer for a while. I'm off to call the United Way now and other charities to see if they can help with the utilities for this month at least (seems only fair, I've donated to them for years so now, unfortunately, it's our turn so I hope they can help.) We were able to get our mortgage company to work with us so that is FABULOUS news! 5 year modification on the mortgage because of illness. We're so blessed they were able to work with us. We don't want to foreclose and you don't want us to foreclose either. Smart move mortgage company!
So good things all around. Thanks to everyone here for your continued prayers and support!!! We love you!!!

Just popping on for a minute to say hello to everyone. Not much going on in my world right now other than allergies. YUCK. Having a hard time with them for some reason this year. Wondering if the new cat in the house is the cause of it all? Hmmmmmm......

Hey Anita,
No, I didn't get the last two afghans finished from last year yet....and YUP, the youngest was actually giving me a hard time about it yesterday. Now that the weather is cooler, I need to get busy working on them. :)
So far, we are all doing okay. Thanks for asking. How about you and yours?
