The sweetest thing.....

First off let me say that I had surgery so that I would a) be healthier and b) I wanted to be a good example for my children... with that said this weekend while the kids were carving their pumpkins alittle girl from across the street came over.  She and my daughter were playing for a while and then my sweet girl asked me to come over.   The other little girl was telling me all about the "cookie" diet her mom was on and how her aunt lost 20lbs eating cookies.  I smiled and said "Oh I need to talk to your mom.... I love cookies too!!!"  Then my daughter who can test every bone in my body at times.... holds her arms out and said... "Isn't my mommy beautiful... she doesn't need any diet cookies!!!"

That just brought tears to my eyes.... Whether or not I get these last 8lbs off or not... I am at goal!!!!!  I wanted my kids to be proud of me and not to be embarrassed when kids saw their fat mom...  MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to share my big wow moment of the weekend with others who would understand!!!

I'm glad to hear your daughter was bragging about you.  It is a WONDERFUL feeling when our kids are proud of us.  It means so much when you get a compliment from kids because they don't hold back their thoughts.  You know it is genuine when it comes from them.

Here's to many more WOW moments...

Awwwwww!!!  What a sweet story!!  I, too, had the surgery to be healthier and a better mom.  I adopted both of my kids as a single mom.  I know they may have tough times dealing with this (the "no-dad" issue), especially among their peers.  I did not want them to have the added burden of being teased about having the fattest mom in the school.

I totally agree Gina!!!  This meant more to me then any number on a scale!!!!!  Thanks for the comment on my weight.... if it weren't for  that damn BMI scale....  (I may only be there for a day but I'm going to see that number) I'd be just fine where I am!!!!
