I never, never, NEVER open the door unless I am expecting someone and I KNOW that person is at the door.  I had a scary experience too while living in San Marcos and was sooooooo glad I hadn't open the door.  The person who was at MY door was the same guy who (a little while later) attacked the antique dealer out on Hwy 12 with a knife and was later shot and killed by the SM Police.  All this information came out during the investigation into the shooting and where he had previously resided....with a girlfriend who was a former neighbor (unbeknownst to me).  He had gained entry to neighbor's apts using the same MO and robbed them.  You just NEVER know who is on the other side of that door!!!

Better safe and feeling ridiculous for not opening the door to a friend, than sorry you opened it to a scary stranger!

Added:  TG you and Tom are safe and sound and B&B&B are loud barking pooches!!!

Hugs, Mari

Between Helaman and Mollie, noone likes to come to my door.  If you haven't hear Heli's bark, you haven't heard anything.  It scares me sometimes.  But he's harmless to those he loves.  I have no doubt he would protect me to the end though.  Mollie too for that matter.

I say never, never, ever open the door to anyone you don't know. Ask what they want, and if they use the flat tire excuse, offer to call someone for them. Don't let them in your house!!!! and don't give them your phone.

The only good cat is a sleeping cat...>^--^< zzzzzzz

Living down here on lower Greenville in Dallas...we've had a few weird/scary experiences.  That is why I always let my 100lb giant schnauzer 'answer' the door.  I don't even get up it I don't know the person at the door.
