OT - Thank Goodness for the Dogs
Tom and I are sitting in the living room drinking coffee, watching the news and getting things sorted for the day. Barron is on guard in the window. All is well.
Someone walked across the front porch and Barron & Bella immediately hit on the front door. Beau, my loud mouthed beagle, joined them in full voice. I am sure they expected Adam to come in and give them hugs. The door handle on the door jiggles. Thank God for Dead Bolts!! The dogs go nuts.
Tom in all of his wisdom, gets up turns on the porch light, and OPENS THE DOOR!! I am sitting on the couch yelling "Don't open the door!" Dogs go nuts, standing firm with Tom at the door.
The guy tells Tom he is looking for his ride to work. There is a second guy standing on the street with another dog. The guy leaves, we lock the door and I call the Police. The thought that they could do this and actually get in a house scared me to death. They show up with 3 squad cars and start spotlighting the whole neighborhood.
All is well, I feel protected, BUT I THINK LIZ'S DOGS AND A LOUD MOUTH BEAGLE JUST SAVED OUR LIVES!!
The moral of the story is, Don't Open the Front Door if you don't know who is on the other side!!
What do you think?
Be Kinder than Necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
There are to many strange happenings in this world today; it's time for families to become families and God to be a part of those families.
