It's been a while....
It has been quite some time since I have been on here. I am almost a 3-year post op gastric bypass and have done somewhat decent in my journey. However, over the past 18 months, I found out that I had dysmotility which basically means that my pouch does not digest food and now I am having to take a medication to assist in this process. And, I have had a Hernia, Ulcer and Esophogeal Spasms whi*****luded hospitalization twice. I have had my ups and downs with this and understand it happens to about 1% of the gastric bypass population and lucky me. So, now I am going through a lull (I guess you could say) which I do about every 3-4 months and not able to eat or keep anything down. For the past 3 weeks, I have only been able to keep down crackers and water. I know, you are wondering why I haven't been to the doctor yet. Here it is ... my surgeon is constantly asking me to have an EGD and after 11 in 26 months, I don't want to do it anymore because they find nothing new. So, now I go to just my Gastroenterologist. Unfortunately, he has some personal surgery and is out for 2 months, so I will have to start over with a new physician on my history and everything. Be assured, I do have an appointment on Friday with a new physician.
My question is ... has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? what has been the solution to this? Any shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.
