Tomato Soup/Tomato Bisque

In checking lables, I see that canned tomato soup seems to have a high sugar count.  I was wondering if any RNY'ers out there have had problems with dumping on tomato soup.

I am still about 4 days out from the joy of soft foods and I am so sick of cream/cheese based soups I would do almost anything for something other than those (i.e. tomato).

Thanks!

I wouldn't advise eating it this early out.  I, personally, dumped really hard on it.

Good catch on the label-reading! Indeed, Campbell's tomato soup has a lot of corn syrup added. I'm not sure what stage you're in, but how about tomato juice? Or if you're in the pureed stage, you could puree and strain a can of whole tomatoes.

Hang in there, you'll be on soft foods soon!!

I ate it from my first week out without problems BUT I don't dump.  Try 1-2 tablespoons and stop.  I also ate blended up potato soup and manhatten clam chowder without problems.

I had my surgery the day after you, and I enjoyed bean with backon and split pea soup blended, its just like a smooth cream soup, and very flavorful after jello, broth, popsicles...  I just started pureed foods today.

Good luck!
