I'm so hungry

Maybe it's physchological, but today was my first day of the 2 week liquid diet to shrink my liver and I feel like I'm starving.  I drank my protein shakes and I'm allowed a salad with the spritzer type dressing thing, so I had that for dinner, but now I'm sitting here with my stomach growling.  2 weeks of this.  I'm sad now.

Grab a glass (or bottle) of water and chug, chug, chug!

Of course our filter broke today and our water tastes yucky.   This is why I'm on the computer.  It's away from the food.  And the hundreds of food commercials on TV.

I didn't know I could have sugar free popsicles.  I'll have to get some tomorrow.

Most liquid diets let you have Sf popsicles, crystal light and SF jello.  Check with your doctors office for specifics.

have your docs office define liquid diet for you - mine was 2 of these not so great (tasteor nutitionwise) shakes a day plus 300 cal meal with no carbs- I have heard of others whose docs rule is anything you can get though a straw

ask for sure about sf pops, cl, herbal and unsweet tea, coffee (if you are having no caffine that will make hyou pretty crabby ifyou are used to it)

here is a weird one that accually might help -get crushed ice (sonic is good) and sprinkle it with the seasoning packs from ramen noodles - for a few days from now when you decide if you taste one more sweet thing you are going to lose it :)

your homones are going to swing wide and far during this journey but to me it was all so worth it - find things to do that are away from food - the computer, crafts, reading outside, writting letters

you CAN do this - you WILL do this and you will be glad in the end

peace

My liquid diet was anything I could get through a straw.  You might be suprised what you can pulverize enough to do that.LOL  Ask if SF Jello or pudding is an option.  Try cream soups.  They will help you fill fuller than just liquids.  But the most important thing for me was to stay busy.  the first few days are the hardest.  Your body is going to be mad at you for not giving it everything it's use to.

I did find out today that I can have raw veggies, broth, sugar free jello, and crystal light.  Along with protein shakes.  So I'm a little less stressed today.  Although I did have to ask my 9 year old to clean up the left overs that they ate for dinner because I was ready to break down.

OMG!!  I can so relate!!  The 2-week liquid diet was the absolute worst part of the whole process for me!!!!!  13.5 months later I'm at goal and happy as a lark.  Keep telling yourself, this, too shall pass.  Just take things one day at a time.
