Support Group in the Houston area?

Hi everyone..!

I'm a newbie on OH site and was wondering if anyone knows any support groups around the Houston area or how I can find one?

I'm having surgery this Thursday and have been lucky to have found 2 people that have had this type of surgery and have offered to help in anything they can along the way.  But I also wanted to visit with some support groups as well to learn how others are doing/coping as the days go by.

I live by 45S and the Beltway 8.  So I'm close to Hobby Airport, Pasadena, Friendswood & Pearland.

What part of town are you in? Houston is a BIG place!!! I go to the Pasadena support group that meets at the Panera Bread off Fairmont Pkwy and Beltway 8, 7pm, 2nd Mondays. Feel free to join us any time!

Like everyone has said their are a lot of support groups in that area. But, one special guy runs one in your area .. LOL Seriously he is awesome. I'm not sure how close to you he is. His name is Sean Nichols. He posted a few posts down from here. PM him and tell him where you are located and wanting to atttend. He is awesome.

How have you been a month after surgery?

I'm doing great! I've had no problems with food or water.... easy peasy! I saw Dr. Garth today and got the all clear, no restrictions.

You've got your surgery very soon! Are you excited?!?!   Good luck, I'll be saying a prayer for a smooth surgery and quick recovery. Looking forward to meeting you at the Support meetings.

I'm happy that your are doing great.  I am excited and nervous at the same time, but I know that I'm making the right choice for my health.

I do to different support groups in the Houston area.  The Pasadena Posey meets 2nd Monday at 6:30pm at Panera Bread at Belt 8 and Faitmount Pkwy  Pasadena Posey also meets 4th Saturday for an exercise event.  Also there is a SOHO group that meets 2nd Saturday at 9am at Starbucks on Bay Area Blvd accross from Baybrook Mall.

Also search for support groups and find the Pasadena Posey and join the group.  Then you will get the email updates of the events and meetings that I send out.  I also send an inspirational-supportive text every day.  PM me your cell if you are interested.
