Isn't transient a homeless person?
JENNY-as you know, I've been a nurse 30+ years. While I have always TRIED to keep a "personal" view of all my patients, and their loved ones, your words REALLY hit home with me. With your permission, I would love to gather your words..without names, of course, and share them with my co-workers..to help them remember WHY we chose this crazy profession...

We Can Do Hard Things
Oh Jenny my heart is so heavy for you and Eric and know that we're all here for you to help get you through.

I weighed 313 pounds on December 1, 2008 the day of my RNY surgery and have lost 81%
of my excess body weight to-date. Current as of November 1, 2009
OH Mini-Challenge Goal for New Year's Day is 170 pounds. 11 pounds to go!
Jenny - you have so many friends here who've been touched by your eloquent words and the agony they convey.
You wrote: "transient pain in tumor locations". My thought is that you're right. Transient does usually means homeless to my way of thinking. And isn't that the goal? To make this pain homeless, with nowhere to go but away? It's not welcomed here! It can't panhandle for free food and handouts. It can't live in your house. It's gotta go!
Keep writing, please. And know that my prayers are added to the multitude already ascending on your behalf.
