The NIGH****CHMAN - Sunday 10/25
Worked last night until 5AM. Came home and napped for about 3 hours. Then went to church. Kirk Cameron preached. He really was good. He started off by saying it was important that we listen to his message so, he had to get rid of the Seaver Fever first. So he asked everyone to sing the theme song while he got into character. And the difference between his preaching and his acting is phenomenal. He still had the mannerisms of Mike Seaver down pat. But when he preached, he preached.
Just so you know, you need to TAKE YOUR VITAMINS & SUPPLEMENTS and make sure you get your daily allotment of PROTEIN.
If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested). Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Missed you and Mary at the party last night. But looks like you had a good excuse to be missing. Sometimes it stinks to be an adult.
Had a call from my sister tonight and apparently my mother has suffered a stroke. She had a "spell" last week where her blood pressure was WAY too high (200+/120+). She has to go tomorrow for a battery of tests as she's still having trouble with balance issues. She went to the local ER the night of her "spell" and apparently didn't get the full scope of tests and treatment relative to a stroke patient. Her PCP is not impressed and said the treatment she did receive could have caused more problems than an actual stroke. Hoping for the best. She's battled blood pressure issues for a few years now, but recently it's been much worse.
Other than that, all is well in my world. Hope the same is true for you and Mary.
It's been a crazed 72 hours. Sorry I missed out on posting Friday night. I'll get you up to date on the good, the bad and the ugly.
Friday, a group of 6 of us went to the weekly martini lunch at the Emily Morgan downtown (next to the Alamo). We had a great time and were able to toast to new adventures for several of us. While I'd spoken to the tech company in the morning and they'd told me they were going to convey an offer, I still didn't have it in writing when I got home from lunch which made me nervous. Finally at 2:48pm, the offer letter hit my email. It was everything I expected with the exception of one question. Once that was answered, I accepted the offer. I start there on 11/2! I'm so excited not only about the opportunity, but how the bump in income will allow us to pay off the rest of our debt within 6 months (instead of a year) and possibly even retire a little earlier.
Friday afternoon, Michael returned from Atlanta. When he got home, he noticed Brown Dog had something on his left snout. At first, we thought it was crusty food that had somehow gotten stuck in his very short hair. While Michael was snuggling with him, I used my nail to pick at it and within seconds most of his face started bleeding. It was the most disturbing thing I've ever dealt with. We thought he'd maybe gotten into a fire ant nest or been bitten by some other bug. We gave him Benadryl and he slept with us so we could keep an eye on him.
Saturday morning, I called the vet as soon as they opened. They didn't have any open appointments but told me to bring him in and they'd examine him in between other appointments. Our vet called me at 11:15 that he had injured his fourth molar, it abscessed and what we saw on his face was the abscess breaking through from the inside. Dr. Woolley gave him a shot of antibiotics and painkillers and sent him home with 10 days worth of meds. He goes back on Thursday for a teeth cleaning and to have the bad tooth extracted. Thank God I know I've got a decent paycheck coming before my credit card bill will get here or the situation would have put me in a complete tailspin of how we could afford it. We ended up missing the Halloween party we'd planned on attending last night because we didn't want to leave our sick baby home alone.
Today has been a day of packing and taking apart furniture. We've got the downstails pretty much packed. We'll fini**** tomorrow and then move on to the upstairs. We haven't gotten confirmation from our property manager on when exactly we can take possession, so we're in a bit of limbo at the moment. Hopefully we'll hear from him first thing in the morning.
Tomorrow, we have to go pack Michael's office downtown. Then, I'll keep plugging away on the packing. Michael's only working Monday and Tuesday this week and then he's off until 11/9 to get us moved.
I hope you enjoyed your family time this weekend. I'm going to try to get some rest tonight. There's still lots to do around here. Prayers for all who need them.
