My 2 year anniversary was last Friday  10-16-09.

Every chance that I get - I share the fact that I had surgery to lose weight.
If they continue to ask questions - I answer them to the best of my knowledge......if the conversation turns sour.................and they contridict me and say that I take the easy way out - I just continue to say:  "I'm sory that you feel that way, but it was best choice for me and I'm very glad that I chose this way.........."  and I let the conversation die from there....

TO ALL OF YOU NEWBIES OUT THERE.....don't let your guard down........continue to consider this a journey - something life long........because the further out you get...the more difficult it becomes in saying "no" ..............unfortuneately  - I am NOT The poster child that I wanted to be...........but I am determined that I am NOT going to fail this.......and I'm going to show my family and continues to support me that  I am doing GREAT !!!   This still continues to be MY journey..........OUR journey................ keep on eating correctly and most of all  MOVE THAT BUTT......EXCERCISE..........that is something that I've never got into the practice of and it has really become difficult to get into ......for me........................but I know what I need to do.....and I just need to do it !!  :)

TODAY:   My company had a fire drill............we had to walk down 10 flights of stairs....there is no way that I could have done that 2 yrs ago and lived to tell about it..............then I chose to walk up as far up as I could breathe....................I got up 3 flights and took the elevator...................

IT JUST FELT GOOD TO KNOW THAT I COULD ACCOMPLISH THIS........AND I FEEL GOOD AND REALLY FIRED UP TO CONTINE THIS EXCERCISE DAILY FROM HERE ON OUT...............

Thank you to everyone on here for continuing to lift me up when I'm down.........I love you all so very much as my family of choice and you all are my life that I chose to be around....

(((((((((((HUGGSSSSS))))))))))  TO ALL !!    AND AGAIN...........THANK YOU !!

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.

Congrats.  I did not realize that you had your surgery before me.  For some reason I thought I was a couple of months before you.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Congratulations Phyllis.  You have done great so far and I have no doubt that you'll continue to be successful.  Just remember, success is whatever you decide it is, not as others might define it.  I really enjoyed spending time with you in Dallas.  You are one of the truly nice people.  It's a privilege to know you.  Keep up the good work and the good attitude.  You are an inspiration.

Phyllis, forgetting your surgiversary goes to show how after a while, it just becomes part of life.  That alone means you've done a great job.  Your determination and energy always amazes me, keep it up and ENJOY your journey.

Phyllis,

I just had my two year anniversary too.  I totally understand what you are saying about this being a journey and a new lifestyle for us.  I'm thinking that we will have to be on guard against falling into those old bad habit for the rest of our lives.  BUT, we both know it's worth it.

Congratulations for all the hard work you've put into the past two years, and all the effort you will put into the next year!

In April, I climbed up Diamondhead in Hawaii with my husband...I was huffing & puffing, but was determined to reach the top (the last 101 stairs were really a killer)...but I made it...so I am so proud of you for walking down the 10 flights of stairs and then going up the first three flights...isn't it amazing how much better we are than two years ago!

Best wishes and continued success!!!

Marianne
