I have been wrestling with myself to get out and exercise, daily I have a "fight" with myself, to do more.....it hurts my everything when i exercise.........I'm so heavy.........that's my dialog....lol

Well yesterday, while picking up my kiddos from school, i saw a friend of mine, walking her kid home, she looked so sad, and pale.....she came over to my truck and ask me if "I knew about her marital problems"..........

Oh how I remember those days, when my ex and I had troubles, I just knew the whole world knew and I was so embarrassed......I told her after I get home I will put my walking shoes on and walk to her house (4 blocks away) and we could walk and talk...

I get there and we walk for almost an hour, not a fast brisk walk but, being as heavy as I am, i could hear my voice sounded labored......and it was better than sitting in front of this computer or reading a book.....

OMS my feet hurt, those poor size 6 little feet had to lug this big ol' hefty body around for nearly an hour, my thighs hurt this morning, when we first started out walking i thought since we aren't going really fast I'll just really squeeze my muscles with every step.....Ouchy

But I'm really proud of myself, for going........hopefully my friend and her hubby will work things out and she will stay in this area and we can walk more often....

Good for you!!  Baby steps will still get you to the finish line.  Everything you can do now, will help you out later. (Plus I'm sure your friend appreciated you listening to her vent).

Tara,

YAY!

I am so proud of you for going walking with your friend.

I know it may have hurt in the begining, but I am sure you felt good afterward.

You are also setting up some good habits for when you have your revision.

YAY!

You did great, Tara! Keep it up!

I know when I first started walk/running, I had to pre-medicate myself with about 800mg ibuprofen. LOL! Tylenol also helps. After a few months, you will be amazed at the muscle you will build and how good it will make you feel to get out there. Nowadays, I always stretch beforehand. And, after a run, I always ice my knees. It does wonders!

Before it became a habit, I had the same argument with myself every day about whether I wanted to get out and exercise. Sometimes, I lost the argument with myself and decided to make that day a REST day. But the next day, out I went. Over time, you don't have to struggle so much, trust me!

I ran 5.62 miles today at about a 10-minute mile pace, and I burned 622 calories!! Yowza! And you probably burned off at least 400 on your walk. You go, girl!!
