One of those additions is the introduction of a biometric screening program where employees are encouraged to get screenings to learn about their individual risk factors for high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes; preventable conditions that account for 40 to 70 percent of all health care costs.    Why biometric screening? This screening program is an effective health risk identification solution and education tool. It is designed to help improve your understanding of your health and well-being by providing new insights through analysis of laboratory results, and the implementation of prevention techniques as applicable.   How the program will work: ·       Screenings are planned to occur in January 2010. ·       For your convenience, screenings will take place on-site at many ACE offices and will be administered by Quest Diagnostics. ·       Work at home employees and employees in some offices will receive separate instructions regarding obtaining their screenings at an off-site location. ·       The screenings will consist of blood pressure measurement and a simple blood draw to measure HDL “Good" Cholesterol, LDL “Bad" Cholesterol, Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides and Glucose levels. ·       Within a few weeks after the biometric screenings, you will receive a wellness report with your results, normal ranges, and a brief description of tests via your home mail. ·       Employees will also be asked to update their Health Risk Assessment (HRA) information through Aetna. Employees who are newly enrolled in ACE’s medical plans will need to complete an HRA.   Please be assured that your confidentiality is guaranteed throughout this entire process. All information in the assessment and laboratory report is personal and confidential, as protected by federal law.   While the program is voluntary, a varying premium structure will be introduced, based on whether or not members participate in the screenings and complete the HRA. Bi-weekly premiums for employees who participate in the screenings and complete the HRA will be 25 percent lower than premiums for employees who do not get screened.   More specific instructions and details regarding the biometric screening program will be communicated in the coming weeks and during the annual benefits enrollment period, scheduled for November 16-27, 2009. Watch your e-mail, ACE Connect, and Employee News for additional information.    Here is what the world is coming too nowadays and starting in 2010 -  this is what my company is resorting too.........thank God - I'm considered healthy now !!!     I WILL PARTICIPATE FOR THOSE CHEAPER PREMIUMS...............SO   BRING IT ON............
