It has been an extremely rough night
It has been tough on us tonight. Four hours ago Flyte laid his head in my lap so I could pet him. He always did that. I got up, went out to the garage to change laundry out to the dryer and I heard Flyte bump into something. I laughed and yelled to him to be careful. Then I heard him bump into something else and whine. And whine. I went outside and he was trotting in circles and bumping into stuff. Then his rear left leg was giving out. Mary was out with the car, so I had to wait for her to get home. She was home without knowing I was calling her within the next five minutes. I got a neighbor help me load him into the car and took him to the 24 hour vet. We got there and they took him in. He had a ruptured disc and would require surgery to "maybe" help him. It would have cost over $5000 and there was no guarantee at all. So, we had to put him down. He was the first dog we have had in many years that I considered "my" dog. He loved to jump up on me and I always allowed him to do it. He will be missed.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Oh George, I'm so sorry. That's always a very hard decision to make, especially when there's so much $$ involved with no promise it will help. I've had to make it sevral times myself. But you know Flyte had a grand life with you and Mary and he'll be waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge. You will see each other again.
Oh, I am so sorry for your loss!! I had to make the same decision years ago. It definitely was a tough one to make.
