Um I don't like mushrooms, but David does.  Not up to grilling them, I didn't throw them in my soup like he suggested yesterday so, any ideas on something quick and easy  to prepare them for him to snack on ?

Thanks for the help!

Blessings,

Nina

****Update*****

I sauteed them with olive oil, threw some onions, garlic powder and some salt and pepper.  He thoroughly enjoyed them!!  Thanks for the ideas!!!!

We love stuffed 'shrooms. You can use the whole ones or even the big portabella's. I remove the stems and sautee' the caps in a pan with a little butter. They will make alot of juice so leave them uncovered. While they are cooking mix your filler. Take the stems you removed and chop them up well and add to your filler. I've used tuna, chicken or crab salad, crab is our favorite. Take each 'shroom cap and fill it with your filler, don't be stingy with the filler! Once they are all filled, I sprinkle the tops with some Fiber One crumbs and broil in the oven until the tops are crispy. You can skip the topping if you wish, I usually do it only for company!

Just use your imagination for the filler.....scrambled eggs or deviled egg yolks, ground beef with cheese melted over the top, steamed and mashed yellow and/or zuccini for just a few ideas.

These used to be snacks and we could eat a couple dozen at a time. Now they are the main dish and I can only eat 2-3!

Edited for typos!

slice and cook in a little butter - add garlic, onoin or wine as desired

stick them on a stick and put them in the broiler for a few mins

simmer them in as little water as possible with a bit of salt or chicken base/boulion and then add them to his bowls of soup :)

done mushrooms release their juices - so that is how you can know they are ready to eat - we add them to scrambled eggs and sliced fresh on sandwiches sometimes - toss on pizza fresh or canned or cooked in butter

when you buy them bring them home DO NOT WASH THEM TILL READY TO USE store them in a brown bag - lunch sacks work great - in the veggie drawer

hey theses are my fav veggie LOL so ask away for other ideas - oh I have put them in meatloaf, spagetii suace and twiced baked potatoes

peace my friend

He was wanting to try the portabella ones a few weeks ago but opted not too.  Since we have a GF grill, I think I will surprise him and do like you mentioned.  Quite honestly, I thought when I threw that mushroom post out there, you'd be the first to reply LOL you have recipes for EVERYTHING!! lol

Or...he could always do it the more fattening way, lol....there is a GREAT recipe my family uses, which u can buy the red. fat cream cheese and blue cheese and make it so much better..... It's yummalicious!!!!

You sautee the caps, chop up some of the steams, blend those with cream cheese, blue cheese, and green onions...then stuff them... then broil for about 2 minutes....

Ping me if you want the exact recipe with amounts.
