I got my RNY surgery date today. Nov. 5 Thurs. at 10:00 at University General in Houston. They said I would be there 2 days. The first day after surgery in ICU most of the day for monitoring. I have labs tomorrow and preop on the 28th.Thanks Pasadena Group for all the ideas and answers at the meeting on Monday. Miss Jean

WooHoo!!!  How exciting!!  I am very happy for you.  Measure all over!  Neck, arms, legs, chest, waist, hips, whatever you can, cuz the inches are gonna come off, and as much as I know I hated it, take before pics!  You are gonna look like a totally different person soon, and it is amazing!

Thanks Jennifer, Those are good tips I thought of the pics but not the measurements. It makes me weepy to think by next June when my then 2yo. grandson comes to visit I'll be a skinny Nana and be able to keep up with him. And he won't have ever know me as the other kids have. I look forward to a wonderful new me and know I can do it with all of your support. Hopefully when we meet next Spring I'll  be at goal and maybe in the 100lb. club. WooHooooo!!!!!!

Here are some tips that a good friend gave me when I was a newbie for soft food snacks:

cottage cheese with an egg stirred in top with spagetti sauce n motzerella - nuke till done made in a prep bowl u should be able 2 eat this in 2 to 3 sittings

other ideas
yogurt or cottage cheese with either protien powder stired in or sf jello powder for flavor
cottage cheese with apple sauce apple pie spice n splenda
string cheese
sf pudding
refried beans ( ff from walmart taste ok) with cheese melted on top n some salsa
tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad - all made with a small amount of reg or lf mayo a dollop of plain yogurt or lf sour cream n some relish
tuna drained well n mixed with salsa or bbq

try setting the timer n every hour have 1/4 cup of something n then 30 mins latter water then hour latter more food so that u r eating more often - if this does not totally go against what your doc says
