OMG...it keeps getting worse !!!!! Got my son's GF in rehab yesterday but not my son yet. Talked to her mom last night and told her how much money we were out not counting having to buy her a brand new pillow and other things for rehab. She could have cared less !!! UGH...parents like that don't deserve kids !!! When my son got back to his apartment there was a eviction notice saying that they had to be out by monday or their apartment would be locked up. She is in rehab for up to a week and then today hopefully he will go too. That leaves me, my husband and youngest son moving them out. Please pray that my son gets in today ....he is in lots and lots of pain and despirately needs help. Also pray that we can get them all out of the apartment before monday. Love you guys and please keep us in your prayers as we go through all this. I am a basket case. My son and his GF are addicted to Oxycoten if you didn't read this last week.....they have no jobs and now they are going to have to move in with us !!!

Vivian, I'm sorry you are going through all of this and you may think this is a little harsh ----

Your son is 23 (?) - he's a grown man. Make HIM empty that apartment before he checks himself into rehab. It's not like they lock the door and say "Nope, you can't come in, you weren't here before 5pm" ....

Eviction notice - apparently the rent money was going to the oxy? Wait, unemployed where was the money coming from to start with?

Really, I hope things get better for you, but your son should "man up" and handle this mess himself. No one got him in trouble but himself.

Jodie....he will be going to a county funded rehab and his GF yesterday had 2 hours to get there or she would loose her bed spot. If they were paying $1100 then I guess they could come as they wished. If you saw how much pain he is in....you wouldn't even suggest he move himself !!!! They are getting evicted for late fees. I have paid their rent 3 months in a row with the late fees....son said it was from way back. They charge a outlandish amount of late fees. Anyway my first concern is getting him in rehab. If we don't get everything moved....then they lose it...not big deal to me !!!

Thank you Jodie.....I hope I didn't come across as harsh. I have only been averaging about 4 hours sleep a night and woke up today with a spliting headache. I am sorry if I offended you ....didn't mean to trust me. I have no mean bone in my body. Love you and thanks for the advice. I have been going since 6 AM and it is now 12:40 PM. He is in rehab THANK GOD for answering our prayers.

Phyllis you are so sweet to offer. I was over at their apartment about 9 hours working today and didn't make much of a dent. His GF's mom came tonight and helped alittle bit. What doesn't get moved....well I guess will get trashed. I am not going to worry myself sick about crap !!! Love ya Phyllis !!

On a positive note if you clean out the apartment you can find and destroy any stashes they may have. That will help them when they complete rehab.

Didn't find stashes but did find drug pipes ( GF mom took those with her ). Trust me NONE of that will come to my house at all !!!!

I'll definitely pray for your son and his girlfriend, as well as you and your family.

One thing I thought of is a program I attend called Celebrate Recovery. It's a Christian-based, 12 step program for people with addictive issues (I go because of my eating disorder). I don't know if any churches near you have a Celebrate Recovery, but it might be worth looking into. It's a great program. There is generally a one hour service - much like you'd have on a Sunday morning, but geared toward those dealing with addictions. Then they have small groups. In addition to groups for those who are chemically dependent, they also have groups for families dealing with these issues.
