Size 22 coat offer, and some Wows

I have two size 22 coats and would like to give them away.  One is wool, chocolate brown, tailored, and knee-length.  The other is a black all-weather coat, very simple and versatile.  They are about two years old.  I wore both of them a lot before my WLS, but they are in good shape with no stains.  All I ask is that you pick them up from my home in the Lower Greenville area of Dallas.  Please reply or PM me if you can use them.

I kept these coats after purging all my other plus-size clothes because I assumed that coats never really get too big.  They have to go over your clothes, after all, and it would not be noticeable if they were "roomy."  Well, OMG ... I tried on the brown one yesterday and it looked like I could have fit another person in there with me!  It was comical and a Wow Moment all at once.

So I called my mom, who has always been a more normal weight, to ask whether she had any coats in the size 12 range that might fit me.  She said she had a nice leather one that was a size 12, but it was "a snug size 12" and might be too tight.  I went to her house, tried it on, and it was almost too big for me.  In my whole adult life I have NEVER been smaller than my mother.  Wow Moment no. 2 for the day!

Good for you!!  I know what you mean about coats.  Last winter my 3X coat was already too big, but I refused to buy one that I would not use when I got to goal.  Now that I am at goal, I'll have to get a new coat.  I hope to find one at Goodwill.

How cool!!!  I pulled out a $200 double breasted wool coat that I bought at the 6 dollar store last year for 20 bucks...of course when I bought it last year, it was a little too small.  I tried it on friday and it was almost too big.  It will be ok this winter with a sweater but I'll probably give it away after that.

I wound up commandeering Mom's leather coat, which is pretty but not that warm, and then hitting Burlington Coat Factory to see if I could find a nice wool coat for when I get seriously cold -- which, post-WLS, is often.  I have become a major weenie about anything resembling cold weather.

I wound up finding a beautiful Nine West wool coat, full length, dark purple, size 12P, for $50.  I also got some nice quality, cute cotton sweaters for $10 each.  Two of them are .... drum roll please ... size M !

Never thought I'd see the day when a medium anything would fit this bod.  So really, it was a three-Wow day.  I love my RNY ...

I was about to text you to tell you that you could use my wool coat until you found something, LOL!  I also found out friday that i fit in my black leather coat that I hadn't been able to wear in years!  We went to Louie's with my parents and a couple friends Friday night and I actually looked nice...I had the grey pants that you gave me and a nice black wool sweater and my black leather jacket.

If you don't find any takers places like goodwill or better yet a clothing ministry would greatly appreciate it. They are always short of bigger clothing. And woo hoo for your wows!

I will definitely be taking them to Goodwill if nobody on TMB wants them.

While I'm posting -- I forgot to mention a third coat I need to give away.  This one is a 16W, but it seemed to fit me all the way up to a 22.  It is (obviously) a loose-fitting, sort of A-line design, but a classic one.  It's sort of a dark, almost iridescent blue-green all-weather material with a red zip-out lining.  I think it is Jones New York -- very nice quality and in good condition.
