I have just had the roughest last two days with my double hernia, one umbilical and one just at sternum area....my foot slipped in the rain and all my guts popped out, literally.....
After the hubby got home yesterday I took a lortab on an empty stomach, then walked around dry heaving all evening....lovely
Im looking forward to tomorrow, hoping for sunshine....

How was your sternum hernia diagnosed and what were any symptoms you had and do the docs know what causes that? I've had what I call my "charlie horse chest" for 9 flippin' years now(since my 1st kid was born) and my docs have all told me "oh, that happens sometimes" as an answer when I question my intermittent pains.

I had stomach stapling back in 2001 or 02 cant remember now....but it was open and the upper hernia was shy about showing its ugly face....i didnt really discover it until the wt all came back....
the symptoms are weird for me, i feel like they are twisted, and im afraid to eat because i have been to the ER several times, because the food had nowhere to go and the silia in my intestines were propelling the food downward, but it had nowhere to go and i was in horrible pain, the food had gone far enough that i couldnt bring it back up, so dry heaves like crazy....
i liken it to a waterhose when u kink one off to stop the flow....i hafta lie flat and message it back into place which is dreadfully painful and dangerous...if i rupture it i could die....and i know that being a nurse for 16 years..
the umbilical one wasnt as bad two years ago as it is today....now if i move or stretch wrong ....i pay dearly...
My surgeon is going to repair them during RNY revision surgery.....so now u know y i have wanted this surgery and fought for it for almost 2 years...im gonna be cut anyway why not fix all the problems....just my thinkin
