Yesterday was a pretty good day.  I did have 5 saltine crackers and one of those tiny ice cream cups that weren't on my plan, but no damage done on the scale this morning.  At least the ice cream was pre-measured...It hit the spot.  I got out a skinny cow ice cream sandwich but it was old and tasted gross...so I got the cup.  Calorie wise it was about the same.  I added dark cocoa to the ice cream to make it heart healthy!

Today's plan:
lots of liquids
protein coffee
Atkins shake
lean cuisine dinner...ran out of lettuce for salad yesterday
pork chop or roast for dinner...roast w/ few potatoes and carrots
hi pro snack

What's your plan?

Karla

Good Morning Karla & OO Participants!

I am almost getting back to my "perfect" routine that was making the weight melt away.  I did not get the chance to exercise yesterday because I opted to go to the fair parade at the last minute.  I also decided to eat Hamburger Helper last night which was not part of my original plan.  The biggest victory of the day was drinking 72 ounces of water!

Today's plan:
B-Coffee for now
L-Tuna salad
D-Salad
Water-64 ounces
Exercise-walk 2-3 miles

Faith, was this a test to see if we were really reading?  There is no protein in that coffee or that salad!  Maybe you just forgot to type that part in....hmmmm?  If not, girl....don't make me come over there.  You know what to do.  Take care of yourself.  If you didn't add protein to your coffee, then you best be adding a shake to your day.  And on that salad...how about some yummy grilled shrimp, roasted chicken or broiled fish?

Good job on the water and the walk!!  You got it going on!!

Hey Tawnya,

I went back and ate scrambled eggs a little later. I have to warm up the band with coffee and I don't like the protein in the coffee.  I don't know what type of meat I will be eating so this is why I chose not to list it.  I have fallen in love with the Oh Yeah protein drinks thanks to Paige.  I am on the phone with GNC right now in Lake Charles and I will be purchasing some soon when I get to the area.  Thanks for checking in on me though...this is why I love my TMB family and OH!

I did pretty well yesterday.  I had 3 slices of ham for breakfast and a protein drink for lunch. Dinner was spaghetti with meat sauce.  Snacks were pretzel crisps, 2 small frozen milky ways and an apple.  I know the choices weren't great but the calories came out OK.  I actually dropped a 1/2 lb this morning.

Plan for today:
Breakfast: protein drink
Lunch: leftover NY Strip steak, coleslaw
Dinner: Grilled chicken, salad

My eating is getting better, although the scale seems to love to terrorize me. But it's not a good 'week' to expect the scale to be nice.  My baggy jeans I wore up to Dallas two weeks ago barely zip. Lord help me, what a mind game, eh?

I am cutting out even the low carb bread and english muffin for breakfast. Taste wise it really matters not. Not because I can't have the carbs but it's what those carbs trigger.  I also need to work on the water. Never can get enough of that.

Breakfast - scrambled eggs and cheese
Lunch - hamburger patties and cheese - sf pudding made wth Mootopia
Dinner - ???  (this is what gets me in trouble)

Hope to get some cooking done this weekend and can be more prepared.

Becky-I just posted a "grocery store sale" thread.  Check it out.  Don't know if you have any of those stores close to you or not.

Why does dinner get you in trouble?  No plan, bored, starving by the time you get home, stressed or what?  Think it out and maybe we can help with some ideas.

Tawnya,

Usually it's not planning or having any leftovers.  I do get hungry when I get home about 4:30 so I have some peanut butter or some cheese.  I am just not a 'meal maker' and Emm always want to make her own.  Last night I cooked hamburger patties while I was doing dishes and ate early.  So by 8:30 when we got home from a visit, I was starving again.  I just need to eat more frequently I suppose.  I take the time do make breakfast and lunch for the next day and by the time I'm done with that, I don't want to make dinner. lol

I really want to do that meditteranian thing. I saw on the news last night that it also helps prevent depression.  I could use that.

So I guess I could say it's boredom, stress, being hungry and being hungry late.

Last night I was eating popcorn AT 10:30!!!

Last fall the Kraft webstie did a series, cook once and eat all week.  I loved it!  For instance I remember the week of chicken...you'd cook simple chicken on Sunday then during the week the leftover chicken was used for soup/stew, quesadillas, on top of green salads, as a chicken salad, in a casserole, as bbg and in a pasta dish.  You could do something like that so that you don't have to do much cooking for dinner...just buy some fresh/frozen prep things and you'd be set to go.  For instance, you can buy frozen stew/soup veggies and only take out one portion at a time.  You can buy shredded cheese, bottled salsa and low carb tortillas for quesadillas.  Use bagged salad and even buy a little container of salad confetti (near salads in my grocery with all the other salad veggies chopped and ready to go, could also be used in quesadillas and soup to prevent spoilage).  For a casserole you can do one with cheesy veggies like Egg Face posts - again using frozen veggies so you can remove single portions and not throw out lots of wasted fresh veggies that go bad before they can be used.  And I'd use spaghetti squash instead of pasta, or even cauliflower, but if you do pasta a whole wheat pasta can be coked in 9-11 minutes.  Use a bottled sauce with your already cooked chicken and you're set.  Do a google and see if you can find the series.  They did one on beef and pork too.  It was really a great way to save money and time.  And sometimes don't we just need fresh ideas.

The whoe key to that mediterrean diet is that you have to eat foods that taste good.  If you don't take the time to fuel your body, your brain rebels with hunger signals and cravings.  If you're doing all that cooking for your lunches, you just need a little creativity to go the next step.

You can do this.  You've done such an amazing job till now and you're an inspiration to so many.  Do NOT give up.  Sometimes it seems like I hear defeat in your voice (typing?) and I just want you to remember how far you've come and that you are a success.  You're strong and smart and in total control.  I have every confidence that you will continue to make good choices and be that healthy woman you've always imagined.

HUGS
