So sorry to hear, Tennyson .. It seems to be happening more and more, despite the recession being "over" (supposedly) .. 
It sounds like your husband has an excellent trade though, and I would think he shouldn't have too much trouble finding another similar job .. I found out the other day there is a personnel service here in Dallas that only hires skilled trade workers (e.g. plumbers, electricians, pipefitters, etc.) and puts them in temp positions ... I wish I could remember the name, it was something like "Tradeworkers" or some such (anyone know?
) I have a client (a plumber) who was able to find good work through them. One was on a building project up in Allen.

KIM-well..CRAP...that's my first response to most everything...then I pray, and KNOW God hears us. There are VERY mighty prayer warriors here on the TMB-the power has been "proven" over and over.
My DH said to ask you if your DH has any of the ASC (the certifications mechanics get)--He might have some ideas for you.
