Looking for Advice from the LADIES!!
I really appreciate everyone for helping me through my recent stall which lasted 3 1/2 weeks! It finally broke, and this month I have been losing consistantly and I finally made it to ONEDERLAND. I am presently 198 and I should be happy, right? Well, not really. I am happy about my weight loss, but I am worried too. My period is currently 12 days late. I am NEVER-EVER late. My husband and I were being so careful because he just came home from deployment and we did not want a deployment baby. I am hoping, by some miracle, all the weight loss in the last month has made my period come late.... ??? I am not sure. My last period was Aug 20 and it was 2 days early. I have been early before so I didnt think anything of it. However, that would make my period due the 17th of this month. My period is never late. I get it , usually, every 28 days to the hour. I usually break out before my period (my skin is quite clear today), I am bloated (not today), and I have been nauseas for the last two days. I am really worried what that means for my baby being as though I am only 3 days shy of being 5 months out of surgery. This is not good. I would love the advice, as long as there is no hate or bashing- I really didn't plan it and my husband and I WERE being careful- we never had an "OOPS" in 10 years. Can a healthy baby be born to someone this short after WLS? Im not worried about my weight loss, I am more concerened with having a healthy baby (IF I am pregnant). If I do not get my period by Wednesday, I will know for sure, I am pregnant. I am going to probably go buy a test today if I have enough time in my busy schedule. If not, I might have to wait until tomorrow.
Thank you ladies! !

Ok, IF you are pregnant you MUST communicate with your surgeon and a OB/GYN experienced with post-op patients. You'll have to eat more often and focus on the baby being healthy.

if not besides getting in asap for prenatal care go buy ketosis strips - they r near the blood sugar stuff at walmart - IF u r pg u must stay out of ketosis!! right now chances r high u r in it as that is how we lose so much weight so fast
if u r ask for referal to diabetic educator ( possibly they will be in with endo maybe nut) - the diabetic educator is the one who helped me the most during my post op pg
obgyn of course
and nutition
yes people do have healthy babys post op - many with NO problems, a few extra vits n tests b/c u r so new
sorry about the typing I am typing one handed holding my post op baby LOL
I know what I need to do - I have to choose to take care of me or I choose to fail
Thank you , everyone, for your responses! I really hope it is my weight loss making my periods act up. It is just crazy because I have always been very precise, every 28 days, for the last 15 years. I am simply not late. EVER. & I never miss a period either. So this is just crazy to me. But I never lost so much weight before either. I know I really have lost a lot in the last month and a lot of inches too. I feel like I went down an entire size this month even though I only lost 10lbs. I didn't lose anything the month before, which was odd, and then this month it hit hard. So I thought that could be it. I blew it off for a few days and thought I was just off course. But now that it is almost 2 weeks late, that is just too much for me. I know my body all too well. I will hopefully find 5 minutes to go buy a test today but I have 2 kids I am babysitting today plus my 2 1/2 year old who has therapy and then I have to pick up my 6 year old from school. My day will not end until 8 when these kids are picked up and mine are in bed. Whew- what a day. LOL. I will let everyone know. Thank you for the help!!!!!!! I was really scared because my 6 year old was born at 37 weeks and was 4lbs, and my 2 1/2 year old was born at 34 weeks and weighed 3lbs. So I am scared of what could happen if I am pregnant now!

Still....sentiments are the same. LOL!
Couple of things....
1) 10 pound loss CAN BE a whole size! Congrats!
2) this would not be a deployment baby, it would be a WLS baby CONGRATS!
3) lots of people in your shoes...lots of resources here! Congrats(even if you're not...just congrats for having these resources!)
4) I was a PRE-op pg because of weightloss. I was on my pre-op diet with my recently banded husband(went on a modified version of his post-op diet with him for convenience), and THE DAY my insurance approval letter came in the mail I found out I was pg and had to wait to get my band. Flash forward a year and I had a beautiful baby and a lovely band too!
This will be ok either way. Chances are real good your body is outta wack from the rapid weight loss but only a test will tell!
If you are pg then CONGRATULATIONS!
WLS baby- how funny! I never though of it that way. Well, I am glad the baby has a healthy chance!! This is a pic of my youngest, when he came home from the hosptial (yeah, the army let him come home weighing 3lbs 4oz ) http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/photo.php?pid=30794368&id= 1244748728 So I am nervous. I don't want to increase my chances of having a preemie anymore!
