Mexican Dentists

I'm always hearing about how we can get cheaper but still high-quality dental work at certain clinics in Mexico that cater to Americans.    

I have yet to be able to find out more, or get a rec to any such clinics.  The closest I've come is from a friend up in Vegas who uses one in Los Algodones, which is down on the border south of AZ ..  I think he said the name is "Sani-Dental", or some such ..  He had like 26 porcelain crowns put on for a total of only $2.5K, 2 years ago which is like 1/4 or less the cost in the U.S.   He said they even put him up in a nice hotel there.  I've heard there are several such clinics further south, in Hermosillo, but no one can give me any specifics on them.

  Frankly, the border area makes me nervous, with all the high crime and drug trafficking problems there of late. 

  Anyone know anything about the Mexican dental clinics?

 My Aunt had her dentures done in Juarez at Washington Dental Clinic 35yrs ago, her kids did about 15yrs ago, Then I had my top teeth done with temp crown all across,Temporary because it was 2300.00 and I paid half a first then did not have the money to finish. In  April this yr, We went back to Washington Dental to get all my teeth pulled and dentures. I called first and asked about fear oc crime, The military is 2 blocks from clinic. Safe enough. You get a hotel in El Paso call the clinic and they come and pick you up, take you to clinic. Clinic does your impressions, then takes you to the market for a couple of hrs if you want to go.Gives you your Rx to fill for antibiotics, pain pills and anti-inflamatory  meds.  Clinic picks you up at the market, They asked if I wanted to be put to sleep. Well DUHHHHH, of coarse I do. They call me in at 3:00 and at 4:30 the clinic but takes us to border and then to our hotel.  Cost before discount, for 22-24 teeth pulled, dentures and anesthesia 1017.00, We got a 200.00 discount since it was our second time there. And the denturs have a 2 yr warranty.

 wow  ..  Juarez is right in the middle of all that hotspot stuff ..    Don't know if I would brave it, even with the "federales" next door ..
