Support Group Meetings in the Dallas-FW Area

Does anyone know of any good support group meetings that meet in the Dallas- Ft. Worth area on a regular basis?

I know of some, but I am looking for some different ones I can visit.

We have some great groups. The one I attend is in SW FW every other Sat. at the Rise and Shine restaurant. Pappa Jack usually posts about those. The next one should be Oct 10. There is a North Texas group that gets together over in the area of IKEA I believe- not sure of their schedule but much closer to you. I'm sure one of them will post soon to your response. There is another one Vivian hosts at Baylees Coffee shop in the HEB area. Tawnya hosts one in the Mansfield area. SO there are alot of choices. Hopefully someone will get on with more specifics for you.

I was hoping to attend a few meetings before my gastro gastric fistula repair/revision to distal gastric bypass surgery on October 9th.

Attending the conference was a major motivator for me, but now I want more.

Hey Teena - We have an active group in the Collin County area that meets three times a month.  Below is our schedule:

1st Sat each month - 9:30am IKEA cafe - Social meeting

2nd Wed each month - 7pm - Wesley United Methodist Church, McKinney - Structured meeting with monthly topics

3rd Mon each month - 6:30pm - Allen Outlet Mall food court - Social meeting


Here are the dates for Oct - Sat Oct 3rd at IKEA, Wed Oct 14th at the church, Mon Oct 19 at the Outlet Mall.  The topic for the Wed meeting in Oct is Holiday eating.

There is a support group that meets every second wednesday of the month that is doctor led and we have a dietitianist and nutritionists that is there also. The next meeting is on wednesday the 14th at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas

Can people who did not have surgery with that surgeon attend?

Since you're in Mesquite, the Terrell Troopers group is not far from you.  They used to meet every other Saturday a.m.,, but I don't know if they still do, or more infrequently of late.  They don't post as regularly as they used to on the TMB.
