Nervous about OH Event

 Joan.... Look for the OH Greeters (I am one of those greeters )when you arrive.  I myself will be at the hotel about 10am helping with the Clothing Exchange as well.  

Ok so Joan beat me to it.  I too am very nervous about attending.  But after reading everyones comments I feel better.  I hope to meet alot of people.  I look alot different from my picture and my hair is shorter.  So if you recongize me please someone take me under your wing. :)

   You were the first person I talked to when I decide to have the surgery.Had it not been for you I think I would of changed my mine.I look so forward to finlly meeting you.I have not been staying up with this like I should and really miss it.Can not wait to meet everyone.I am another one that will be coming from East Texas by myself.Hugs Emma

Hey Joan! I'm Yvonne (and wow some people have really said some nice stuff about me)  I had a silly shirt made that says "Bariatric Girl" so you won't miss me!  I'll be hanging around the lobby about 3pm until it's time to go to the meet and greet along with the other greeters. Do you know that I attended my first OH meeting in 2004 and I volunteered to be the official photographer so I'd have a reason to be there because going by myself was something I didn't do.  In no time I felt at home.  I promise we'll make sure that no one is alone.  When you eat lunch and you see a table with people just come up and say can I join you and they will be thrilled.  To show you some good times...here's the OH conference in 2004

There are LOTS of people that came alone and then the next time they weren't alone anymore.  In fact I'll tell you an inside joke when I meet you because you'll want to meet a wonderful woman named Jerry.  She will be ecstatic!  I hope that helped and I hope you can see how much fun we have.  At the dance we just all get out there and dance together because there's not enough men so that makes it so much more fun because you can dance to any song you want.

All I can say is I hope you like hugs.  This is the hugginest group of people I have ever met.  You may feel alone and a stranger for about 1.5 minutes and then you will be swept up in the hugs and meeting people.  I wish I was going!
