Hi Joan.... I know when i went to my first event here in houston 4 years ago i didnt know anyone.... and i was made to sit on the front row by Yvonne.... no one can miss Yvonne or say no to her she is the tall blonde who is always on the go.....

Read Monicas post about being on the fence..... she writes it so well....

If i havent come and introduced myself to you just pull me aside i am the quiet one of RYD (Ramon, Yvonne and Debra)...... you will usually see the three of us together along with Monica and Sean and several others....

Are you staying at the hotel...I am driving in from houston early friday after an interview......

if you are there early lets get together.....

come on and show up you will meet so many cool people and friends for life....believe me.... no one knows a weight loss surgery person better than we do.....

im nervous tooooo. this will be my first oh conf.  when i have meet up with some of the support groups they have all been GREAT, everyone is so welcoming!

I was a newbie last year and felt the same way - once you get there and start mingling with this bunch, you will no longer feel like a stranger.  I know several newbies who are coming this weekend and they all feel like you do.  But this group is such a fun bunch and so friendly, you won't be able to NOT have a blast.  We've all been where you are now.  Believe me, when you leave this group, you will have made a ton of wonderful NEW friends.

Go read my post please.  I drove 6 HOURS away ALONE to attend my very first OH conference NEVER meeting these "crazy" people in my life.  I was only going w/ what I knew on the internet...they could have been part of a cult for all I "knew"  I've always said it, I am soo glad I went...it changed my life (after u know my story) 

And believe it or not...I am one of the shiest people there is...but I have LEARNED how to mingle and get "out there"  (I plan to run for politics some day, so OH is my guniea pigs. lol)
