84 ounces?!?
My rule early out was 64 oz and so I filled 4 water bottles each night at bedtime and put them in the fridge and didn't go to sleep the next night until they were gone. That's really not a lot of liquid. So for you, that would be 5 bottles cuz each one holds 16.9 oz. Just take a bottle with you whereever you go. I even carry mine into Walmart and sip while I'm shopping.

Is she sure she didn't get those numbers wrong??? I have only heard of surgeons requiring 64 oz of water daily. You can also count your protein shakes as your fluid intake in the beginning. Call and make sure she didn't mean 64 and accidently said 84 oz. Good luck to you.

WOW I am surprised !!! Maybe they are telling you that much fluids because they don't want you to dehydrate. Not sure....everyone I know and me included were told to drink 64 oz of fluids....but then all doctors are not equal. Good luck with getting that much in and not floating away !!!

I'm not sure how it is with the lapband but I know the week after RNY I couldn't get that much down a day. but like Stephanie said I kept something to drink with me at all times whether is was a protein drink, water or Crystal light. I was told I could even count Chicken broth and sugar free popsicles as part of my liquids. The main thing is you want to make sure you don't get dehydrated.
AMANDA-everyone is different, of course, but I get in, on average 100 oz of water every day..bu****er and coffee are pretty much all I ver drink, and you'll probably never see me without a water bottle in my hand. Obviously you have to "build up" to lg volumes. At first it's sip sip sip sip sip....lol. I'm 7 yrs out. EVERYONE needs at least 64 oz-surgery peeps or not--that's just the good old "8 glasses" we've heard all our life. Just do the best you can.
