I am so proud of myself.  I am finally getting in all of my calcium. I want to make sure I am absorbing it all like I should.  Does caffine interfer with the calcium?  I dont' drink much caffine but may have a glass of tea for lunch.  I take my caffine throughout the day.  I guess I don't want to get excited about doing good and then realize I wasn't doing as good as I thought I was.LOL  Thanks for you help.  At 2 years out you would think I would know all of this by now.

Teena.....I think that we can NEVER know it all !!!  They are coming up all the time with new things concerning WLS patients.    I would think that one glass of tea a day wouldn't interfer with your calcium.

teas and dark sodas have ingredients that bind with calcium, it might be best not to have those things until a couple of hours after your calcium intake.

Caffiene does leach calcium from the body.  Saying this I know I drink entirely to much caffiene, it's my transfer addiction and I've tried to lower the daily amount but not with much luck.

I don't think one glass of tea will cause you much harm.

As I have told you before, you are my go to person when it comes to questions about vitamins and supplements.

I use the BA Chewable Calcium tablets.  After chewing one, should I refrain from drinking for a while or is is okay to drink immediately after?

I too worry about not getting my vitamins, especially here in freaking paradise, so I carried tons of otc vitamins, caltrate minis, and Aleve. Panadol doesn't quite measure up. Anyhow, I got lucky while home and found a ob/gyn who had had RNY herself and she recommends the Caltrate minis. They're so much easier to swallow and I don't have to buy them by the 50 gallon drum to get enough to last several months. Along with this I take Flintstones w/Iron, a big B-Complex, and B-12 3000 mg, and here I'm taking another B complex that is said to help with nerve pain in the back and neck. I can get most of these here, we have GNC and of course lots of Asian style herbal shops and holistic shops. The big problem is that the concerns of the people here are not the same as ours, so the products on offer are not always what I need.
