Iron infusion question...
I just can't seem to get my numbers up! I am taking my vitamins and iron supplements dr garth reccommends. On 6/2 my iron serum was 26...ferritin serum was 8.
Just retested on 8/26 and this doc ran different tests for some reason (switched docs with same clinic) so not sure which numbers to compare:
iron serum was up some to 45 and iron saturation was 11.
I am just sooooo tired and feel worn out all the time. My b-12 was great in June and she didn't run it in August. I really just forgot to have her look back at what the previous doc ordered so I could compare everything.
Wondering if I should ask for iron infusion just to get my body up some so maybe the supplements will keep it up. I may be way off base here...let me know your experience.....thanks~~~~

July,
John is right iron doesn't move up really quickly. The iron serum looks much better in 2 months. If you go to www.labtestsonline.org you can review lots of info on the various iron test.
Ferritin is your iron stores and those number DO NOT move quickly. I'd be apt to call the doc and order your ferritin to see where it is at 2 months later.

I love it!! I love that cut too. I wish I could find SOMETHING to do with my hair but I am too lazy. I have thin, fine hair so it always needs to be "done" therefore I put it up 99% of the time!! I am getting to the point that I hate that though. I go back through pictures and my hair is always up and I look so plain and pudgy.
Good reminder that I need to get my labs done. I too feel tired all the time. Sometimes I think I could sleep for a week! Need to be more faithful with my B-12 injections...could be part of the problem!!!!
