Home at last!

Whew!  There's no place like home! According to Dr. Garth my surgery went well. I did have some adhesions from a very old gallbladder scar but he got around it. Everything so far has been blessedly uneventful. Once I passed the leak test they started bringing me broth and jello. It's so weird not to be able to feel full so I'm being careful to pay attention to amounts. The gas pains are there but not as bad as I anticipated and I've been sleeping on my side from the start. So far everything I was expecting either didn't occur or are way milder than expected. Methodist Hospital has measurments marks on the wall every 25ft so you can tell how far you're walking. I did 300ft every 2 hours. The drugs they gave me totally relieved the pain in my knees...it was SO nice not to hurt when you walked!

So I really have a rather uneventful report, everything went very smoothly. All the prayers and chicken swinging really paid off...Thanks!

And it IS true....Never trust a fart!!!

Hi Dee.....So glad to see you made it home at last.    I am also very happy that you are doing so well. Try to pay attention to the feeling of satisfaction that you will feel right before you get full.    You will get a "hey....I am satisfied feeling" that is where I draw the line....when I feel that I quit eating.   Good luck to you and welcome to the journey of a lifetime.   Let the Journey begin !!!!

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Glad to hear you didn't have to endure as much pain as you expected. Sounds like Dr. Garth has been doing his job well. Congratulations on such a successful surgery!

Dee, Welcome to  the Loser Bench!!!     I am so sorry I lost track of when your surgery was scheduled  . I have not been on the board in  a long time because my computer at work will not let me on except spiratically so I got frustrated and stopped trying! By the time I get home, I am pooped. I'm gald to hear that everything went well and I hope to see you next weekend in Dallas if you are up to it.
