My journey update

I am gaining weight now with my G-tube but I still feel sooooo bad.   I have been blown off too many times to count by my current surgeon, so I scheduled a new patient consult with Dr James Davidson for tomorrow.  In the mean time, I got my labs back from my current physician.  Anyone heard of SpectraCell laboratories?  They do a new kind of test that breaks everything down into more details than regular labs.  Well, it came back that I have deficiencies in the following areas:  Vitamin B12, Pantothenate, and Spectrox.  It broke everything down and explained it.  Both B12 and Pantothenate fatigue, weak and even depressed.  It looks like that is most of my problem.  The spectrox  tests the total antioxidant function.  That would explain why I get sick so easily and don't heal well after surgery.  I am going to take this with me to the new surgeon's appt tomorrow.  Don't know if he will reverse my surgery, but at least I know what I am lacking in now so that I can get some help.  That is a huge relief.

Yikes B vitamins deficiencies will definitely throw you into a whirlwind.  Be diligent and proactive to get your B vitamins up ASAP.  Deficiencies can be non-reversable i.e. permanent if not dealt with quickly and diligiently.

Glad to hear you are seeing Dr. Davidson tomorrow.  I don't know if a reversal would be the first option at this point, IF there are other explanations for what you are going through.  Research everything!
