Six years ago today
Six years ago today I had gastric bypass surgery at age 50. I weighed 293# (BMI was 51+). I was taking medication for high blood pressure and was giving myself insulin shots nightly for diabetes. Within a short time both of these issues were resolved. I lost 147# in about a year and have maintained my loss (with a little fluctuation) for five years.
My life has changed in so many ways. My fitness level is the best ever and getting even better at age 56. I like the way I look in clothing. I don’t have issues with fitting in booths or airplane seats.
Just wanted to post to commemorate the special day---I will never forget where I came from and am so grateful that I got this chance for a healthy life.
