And apparently I have such low iron (and there was one other level that was low but I can't remember what it was called...she said it was probably tied in with the iron) that if we can't get it up substantially and quick, I may have to have iron infusions.  :-(

I don't understand, because I've been doing great on everything but B12, and I even have gotten a shot of that the last two months.

Well, while I'm on the subject, does anyone know where I can get the chewable iron with ferronyl carbonyl iron other than Bariatric Advantage?

Kim, I don't do chewable but Vitalady has some good iron choices if you can do pills.

Your B-12 could very well be some of the cause of the anemia, it's called Pernicious Anemia.

Here are a couple of links if you want to read up on it.

Don't stress the infusions, many post-ops need them and MOST will tell you they feel much better once they are done with them.

Kim my surgeon put me on a liquid iron called Ferritin IPS.  I ordered it from BA.  His internist told me that they had had real success with it.  It is not constipating like many other irons are.  It doesn't really taste bad either.  You might try it.  It's suppose to be over the counter but I have only found the pills.

Kim make sure when you take your iron that you are NOT taking it with any other of your vitamins.   Try to space a couple of hours between the other vitamins and the iron.       Iron is NOT a friendly vitamin and needs to be taken by itself for max absorption.    Good luck to you.

I know what you are going through. My iron and ferritin are low. I take 3 18mg chewable iron by bariatric advantage a day. I have to go back to the dr. next month. I will be glad to get it all fixed, because this being tired all the time is for the birds! Good luck!

get an Rx for Repliva. It works faster then gentle iron suppliments. BUT once your levels are normal, get some Vitalady tender iron, it works great.
