I want to organize a cookbook

I may be getting in way over my head BUT I want to try this out seeing as I have been on-line hunting for recipes ALL day.

WHAT IF... you all e-mailed me your favorite WLS friendly recipes and I organize them into a cookbook. Then everyone could "buy" one (No profit, just supplies and shipping. I am thinking $10 or so) and everyone could have oh lets say Danni's protein ice cream recipes. Or any one of the other 100 recipes I have seen requests for on here...

Thoughts?????

I would totally be in on this. I think it's a great idea.

How should we send our recipes to you? Through a message on this site? Or will you be providing a regular email?

Michelle, YES YES YES!  I'd buy it and contribute recipes also.  Couple things to consider:

1)   How many can one person contribute?
2)  What will the sections be?  (appetizers, meats (or broken down), casseroles, veggies desserts).
3)  What is the deadline?
4)  Before you print and bind them you MUST have peoples money, either Paypal if you have it or money orders (cash if locally).
5)  Do you want the nutritional information to be included with the recipe?

Let me know what I can do to help this far away.  In 2006, Blane and I made a cookbook of our favorite recipes for our neighbors in Porter.  That was our Christmas present to each of them.  It went over fabulously.   Now they all have some of the Cajun food we cooked for them when there.

Hey Dana,

I am so glad people are interested! I have always wanted to make a cookbook of my favorite recipes but I have never sat down to do it. This way, with all of the recipes submitted and people waiting on me, I will have no choice!

Answers:
1.) As many as you want
2.) I was thinking Snacks, Protein Drinks, Appetizers, Meats, Eggs.. hmmm I will have to put some thought into that. Might be easier to decide when I have some recipes and can break them down into categories.
3.) Let's say deadline for submission 10/15 and ship by 11/15 or earlier so people will have them in time for the holidays.
4.) I will get the cash first. And make the suggestion that people that live further away combine orders and save on shipping. Those flat rate boxes should work well depending...
5. ) I am going back and forth on the nutritional info. I could of course in the front of the book put a disclaimer.. I am just worried with all of the tweaking that we do to recipes it won't be accurate.

This is all off the top of my head. Any input is welcome!!

There are some pretty good cookbook programs out there. I think I've seen one that even calculates the nutritional values for you.
